No chance the Flyers win tonight. For starters, they never fair well against the other teams backup. Second, I am able to watch the game, so that is an automatic loss.
Put your money on the Ducks!

If Edmonton does make a trade for a goalie, it will be with the Bruins. Rumors out of Boston is Linus Ullmark for RNH and a pick. - jd250

Pretty cool seeing him as a little Duck here, and then as a kind of stoned looking teen.

I’m ignoring that rumor until Ek says it’s an E5.

NBA used to be on par with the NHL but now they're making $10B annual revenue to the NHL's sub $5B, so yeah.... hockey is actually doing something very wrong. - Tomahawk
Lack of national TV contracts is the big culprit. 5 of the 6 originals generate the biggest share of the revenue. The NFL dwarfs both the NBA and the NHL.

I'm talkin strictly of the quality of the two leagues. The NHL has much more competitive balance than the NBA and it's not even close. Also the quality of the players in being easy to root for. The NBA has become a bunch of whining babies that decide what city they want to play in and which players they want to play with. The league could fold tomorrow and I wouldn't even know it. Their regular season ratings suck too despite the fact that ESPN bends over backwards trying to promote the dreadful NBA while basically ignoring the NHL. |

Except Hart is sick and not playing tonight. Ersson is net. - jd250 Great, I read that Ersson has the 3rd worst save expected percentage in the league. He's basically been pretty brutal up to this point with the exception of the Sabres game and even in that game he gave up a bad goal.

No worries for them though cause their ratings will always do well considering how many folks bet on their games.

Everything you posted here is opinion, which you're certainly entitled to have. Why does the NBA make more money than the NHL? Could it be that what you state is not reality?

The NHL either lacks star power or they can’t promote them. Many people who don’t follow hockey don’t know who McDavid is. Everyone knew who Gretzky was.

Again, not reality. The NFL is a cash cow. It's an incredible product. So much so that every NFL owner is virtually guaranteed to profit hundreds of millions a year. |

Ok so Hart is sick. Probably so. But given this team’s history, does anyone else think there’s a possibility that they realized they’re rushing him back too quickly and “sick” saves a little face? |

It's my opinion and many folks share it. Yes, no one is denying that the NFL is a cash cow, but if you read my comment you would understand as to why it always will be a cash cow. Everyone bets on the games and plays fantasy football. The product is far from incredible these days and the league itself knows that they have a shortage of credible QBs. I'm waiting for it to get to the point where they put flags on the QBs and you aren't allowed to hit them at all. There are far too many boring and vanilla teams these days, but they don't care as long as their ratings and income keep up. I think college football is a much better product these days...again, just my opinion.

Everyone knew who Gretzky was. - Minnyhock Really, what are they going to do? McDavid plays in the middle of nowhere (for a team that has done nothing) and he has the personality of a wet sneaker. Gretzky was actually pretty obscure until he moved to LA and married an actress (and he won like 5 Cups). He also had more of a personality. Hockey players are too humble and don't translate well to the spotlight. I mean, look at Messier on ESPN. He's a dullard. There are no Barkley's in the NHL. And yes, the NBA markets star power cause their stars can take over games based on the fact that they can play the entire game (or most of it). Gretzky could take over games, but it is a rarity since even the stars only play 22 minutes out of 60 minutes. I dunno... |

No way we win tonight. We lost to San Jose and the ducks have a very respectable young roster. Anaheim is the surprise of the season
Edmonton also is, but for opposite reasons |

Your ignorant if you think the NFL is a cash cow just because of fantasy football and sports betting. It's a bad opinion that it is a bad product. The facts say otherwise. Stating that many folks share it is a fallacy.
