Farabee is having a strong season. However, the resident hockey prognosticator does not see it with Farabee. - MJL
You are such a fountain of misinformation! Up to this season there was barely anything to see in Farabee. This is the best stretch of hockey games he has had in his entire NHL career. And still, it's clear Farabee is a complimentary player. |

Trading Big Z will not require a pick or prospect. He will have several suiters. - hello it's me 2050
GMs probably can’t wait to get a big hitter, think about Risto. Zadorov is better than him but that 14 goals last year was an anomaly. He ruined someone on the leafs the other night, forget who maybe bertuzzi |

Edmonton would not make that trade. Again, it's trying to trade quantity for quality. - MJL
I don't believe Edmonton will trade Leon. |

Farabee has had some injury issues but to say that he’s a complimentary player at 23 is ridiculous. Before the injury problem (significant injury) he showed a lot of promise. |

How old is Zadorov? I never realized how big he was.

The one thing that we can count on for certain is Jay Woodcroft will be fired ... - jd250
That would be too bad. Woodcroft is a good coach. It could get them a bump but wouldn’t make much difference.

[quote=Hextall271]In real terms, I don’t know what moves the oilers could actually make mid season to fix this mess. They need a big upgrade on d along with a tender. The simple answer is to trade picks and prospects for this while getting a team to take on some bad contracts. Also, they can’t wait to the tdl because they’re trying to win now and will likely be out of a playoff spot by January if they don’t turn it around soon.
Holy trading from a position of weakness. Exactly where you don’t want to be.
They can't. Limited cap space. They'll just do the usual in professional sports and fire Woodcroft.
Ken Holland is done after the year so it's up to the new guy to right the ship. |

We’d be looking at futures from the oil for sanheim/hart type of deal. - Just5
I hear they don't have much. |

Very likely that’s all the oil do is fire the coach.
Forgot to post. Respect to the memory of Pelle. I was just young when he died but remember it like yesterday. One of the best and gone too soon. |

Bobby Brink and Egor Zamula are healthy scratches in tonight's game. Ryan Poehling will re-enter the lineup up front and Victor Mete will make his Flyers regular season debut on the blueline. Cart Hart will get the start in goal. |

He is not a star but he keeps going like he is, he is a top 6 winger. His progress this season would support his play when he first came on the scene, prior to injury |

His skating is so much stronger than a year ago and he is much stronger on the puck as well. That's what a summer of working out will do for you versus spending an off season recovering from surgery. His numbers might not be all that special, but he has been playing quite well! |

Exactly what I have been seeing, skating and anticipating well, first man on puck and able to make a play when he gets there. |

Agreed. Exactly the type of player we need to be patient with and stick with. He’s improving. Anyone who had that type of surgery would need time to recover. Let alone a pro hockey player. |

Both have been slipping a bit lately. I think its probably load management as much as anything else. I bet Foerster sits a game soon as well.

Fact of the matter is he can't skate. He survives on his IQ, but the back will never recover....... - mr4tno
Fact is you're wrong on his skating. He is an average NHL skater and his skating is not and never has been an issue. He's already playing at a solid level. Just needs a bit of time to get back to where he was. It's more about timing then it is about his back. His back to this point seems fine.

LMAO, just a 20 goal season in 55 games as a 20 year old. Before having injury issues. Nothing to see. You step in it one way or another, every single day. Without failure you will make a fool of yourself. Every single day. Another example of your spot on player evaluations. Jay O'Brien has the goods! |

Weird….I remember a bunch of posters saying Rick Tocchet was not a good coach and shouldn’t be considered for the job in Philly…all he’s done is have his team 16 games above .500 in his first 49 games. On a team with some good young talent but hardly a world beater..Ya he’s brutal. |
