Husso barely over an .800 SA for the game. OK, let's start the goalie controversy and the trade Husso parade!!! Don't even take the bum to Sweden!

Was forced to listen to the game, will watch it tonight after the UofM game.... From listening to Ken & Paul, despite the fact that there's "W" for today's effort, Husso's slipping big time. Opponents are studying his play, know his weaknesses, and are exploiting those discoveries.

Reimer's not the Golden Boy, no clue what Lyon can do, Husso's like bailing out a sinking boat with a collander. Simply put; our G stinks. D's not playing as tightly as they need to...they're generally more offensive (literally and figuratively...) than defensive. Now, if we had Hasek, CuJo, or Ozzie back there, being more offensive would ve ok. We're not in a place where our D can jump in every play, we're getting burned on odd-man breaks, etc... The need for some stay-at-home D, or stronger defensive defensemen is desperately needed....if that makes sense.... Time for a G coach to earn his pay, right now, because we ain't gonna contend for pee-wee league play-offs if we keep 'tending like we are now.

Fabbri always plays good when in the lineup and to his credit still plays in traffic and blocks shots but seems to get injured just to much. As far as Husso how long until he gets into the 700 hundreds before we give Lyon a chance. What do the Red Wings have to lose by seeing what he can do . If seem to me that giving Lyon a couple of games is a no lose proposition and if he plays good maybe dump Husso on Edmonton or Tampa before he has no value like Ned Had. I also would think that playing Kostin with Larkin and Debrincat might give them more room plus Kostin looks like a player.

Fabs is pretty good when he's not injured and has an insane heart, never quits....which is something this team need a ton of. So, it's hard for me to say "trade him". But the amount of time he's missed makes me say "trade him".

I don't know what the solution is for the G situation. Lyon needs game time in GR....see what happens from there. He's older, not a lot of NHL ice time, but showed up in the SCPO for FLA last year....I'd offer that's a fairly high-stress environment, so he may well have what it takes to fill the gap until our G situation is unscrewed....we won't know if he doesn't play. Now, do I think we just throw him out there vs OTT or TOR? No. I think Reimer gets one of those games....Husso needs a head adjustment and the best way to do this is get a GOOD coach working on him....Get Ozzie out there, maybe Howie...maybe they are, I can't say. Throw the kitchen sink at fixing Husso. Until Cossa shows what his floor is, we don't know what to do. We need a damn G, what we have now is a dumpster-fire....and our D needs to adjust to covering for the G which takes some offensively talented D-men outta the attacking zone. We have to admit Ghost is really good as is Walman. If we lose their offensive push we end up playing 3 on 5 in the attacking zone.

Something's gotta change because I'm not alone when I say I'm seeing bad flashbacks to the past several years, and that's not good.

What happened to Max Bultman over at Athletic?
Did he get canned?
Hasn't posted a new article in like 2 weeks.
Anyone knows?

He posted that he's getting married and would be away a bit. My two stops are here and the athletic, his stuff is great as well as Jeremy's!

Wings should leave Husso in Detroit... and take Reimer and Lyon to Sweden.

As usual Husso lets in at least two goals he should have stopped... especially the breakaway goal in the first period. Ugghh... At least they pulled out the win... but barely.

Not sure what's going on in Grand Rapids... but the Griffins officially stink right now and can't seem to win despite having more talent / depth than last year. Kasper has one goal in 10 games (no assists) .... That doesn't instill much hope that he was a great pick for the Wings.

One opinion that I am coming around to consider:
Essentially, it boils down to this: if we’re gonna keep him, play him… and if we aren’t going to play him, trade him. All that said, I do wonder if his first start is about a week away – with two jet-lagged goalers (not to mention a jet-lagged team) on the other side of the Global Series, maybe that’s when we finally see Lyon suit up. If it doesn’t happen shortly after that, I’m going to seriously wonder what’s going on that isn’t out in public.
However, I would rather he be sent down to GR for a conditioning stint while the Wings play mostly Reimer. Lyon really needs to get his game legs under him, and he can do it safely in GR.

As for the Griffs...

I see the league isn't happy with Larkin complaining about the impact of the Sweden trip. I get it, the season is a grind, but these guys are flying on very lush private jets, staying is 5-star hotels, being bussed everywhere they go and eating like kings with chef prepared meals. They'll have plenty of opportunities to rest.

This isn't like grunts packing in with hundreds of others in a C-17 in near upright jump seats for an incredibly uncomfortable 15+ hour overseas flight for a yearlong deployment where if they're lucky, they'll get 2 weeks of R&R and the rest of the time, the only time they aren't working is when they are sleeping.

I would think the Wings can handle a short trip to Sweden and it should not have a major impact on the rest of their season.

I can see Larkin's point. For me, why not syart off the season with the Global Series? Just makes more sense, gives guys time to recover plus it's right when the guys are most-rested & fit. The issues from what I read was that we have 20 games in 40 days right after coming back.

Dude, the C-17 flights are BRUTAL. Did a few of them, 9+hrs from Germany to Andrews Air Force Base but that was a medical evacuation flight ("MEDEVAC") and I was on a litter but still sucked! And loud. At least the deployment flights allowed you to sleep on the cargo....if the Crew Chief was nice. Cold, too. Bad memories! Oh, and the chow was boxed lunches because we weren't allowed to use the MRE heater! Thanks, Blue :/ Did you do any of those flights?

For what it's worth, the "Larkin complaining about Sweden trip" thing seems like a non-story to me. The actual quote seems pretty innocuous and probably would have gone unremarked upon if not for Bob Duff and his never-ending quest to manufacture stupid, forced narratives out of whatever boring quotes he can get his hands on.
