Not a chance, it was a clean, albeit, hard hit that most times is allowed in the NHL. Please don’t restart the anti Hawk conspiracy theory nonsense again.

I’d love for us to go after Nylander this summer. Then draft Eiserman. And then also add Moore+Nazar when ready.
- SimpleJack

Not sure Nylander is the way to go. He’d help short term, but long term not so sure. He’d want a massive long term contract and by the time the Hawks are ready to compete for the cup in 2 to 5 years he’d be over 30 and could very possibly be a cap albatross when the young guys need their pay day. There will come a time to sign a UFA, I hope KFC waits until he knows what the final needs are.

By no means is he a long term answer, but outside of his first game this year, Zaitsev has been reasonable. He looked like one of the most calmest D out there. Didn’t hang onto the puck too long and made the quick/easy play. Can pretty much say similar with Tinordi. He’s had a few more WTF moments, but has cleared the crease well and has kept it simple. Not much more you can ask from a 3rd pair guy especially on this team.
- Chunk

Zaitsev kept it simple yesterday, Tinordi brings toughness, I think that Zaitsev is the less of the two evils. Kaiser had a nice game yesterday, in my opinion he plays better with #22 than with #25.

It's strange that in the course of one offseason, they backend has gone from one of the biggest concerns to one of the smallest. And the concern largely comes from the vets, not the young guys starting to fill the roster.

Nylander would get them to the middle of the pack, which is never a good place to be with large contract players. If they’re bringing someone in, I’d rather bring in a center, but not a $10M one, and preferably younger.

I agree, I'm the first one that wants this team to win and contend, but i really don't want to be a pretender or that team that's good enough to make the playoffs but just isn't good enough to win it all, kind of like Boston, Dallas, Minny, Carolina just to name a few.

According to the rebuild handbook you stay the course, and let kids like Nazar, who's playing better and better at Michigan, and all these other draft picks who are point per game players in their respected leagues, even the ones that are not, marinate.

If there's a trade for Nylander 3rd party may have to help to eat salary for this year, we are there for that and the 2nd round pick.

And i do thank Bowman for drafting guys like Kaiser, Vlasic, Phillips, Allen and Del Mastro this really helps with the rebuild since dmen take longer to develop.

After rewatching Bedard took the bait he thought the defender was just trying to play the puck, he did for a second but his intention was to catch Bedard off guard. He sure did. Glad the kid is okay and I'm sure he will be working on a reverse hit.

I also have this belief that others teams are watching our stable of young left handed dmen. If we are lucky enough that Vlasic, Kaiser, Allen and Del Mastro produce and produce well. I imagine at least one will be dealt for a promising forward or two in the future

I would bank on it. There won’t be enough room for everyone.

Anybody know anything about Vegas RD Kaedan Kirczak? 22 years old, 6-3, 190 pounder drafted in 2nd round in 2019. He's in the last year of his ELC. He has spent most of the time in the minors but has played about 20 games for Vegas over the years. Supposed to be a defensive defenseman. If KFC does any business with Vegas for a depth piece or maybe goalie (if Knights lose a goalie to injury), I wonder if he could be a target. Something like a Mrazek or D!ckinson for Kirczak.

Here's a scouting report on Kirczak.

Bedard is getting better each time out and will be real game changer. To avoid being a "lone ranger" he needs a running mate on that line to be his "tonto". Perhaps, Nazar could be that guy down the road. Then they would need a "retriever" on the line to chase down pucks and provide some greasiness in front of the net.

Offensively, the problem this year is the second line. Reichel was supposed to be the guy to drive that line but has not done that at all. AA is not having a good season also, that doesn't help. Radysh is kind of like the net front guy on that line but can't drive that line. They are getting offensive contributions from the bottom lines but that second line is not getting it done.

They do need a top 6 center, boy does that sound familiar, hahaha, but it ain't happening this year, maybe next if both Nazar and Moore sign their ELCs.

He will be a strong guy, similar to Crosby, but right now he’s still a boy and for a couple of years he’s not going to win the physical battles against bigger men. But if, as you say, he incorporates a reverse hit, it initially negates big hits then it makes opponents think twice about loading up with a big hit.

I think these are the kind of guys KFC should be looking at, younger guys who can’t get a chance on established teams. No idea if this kid is better than what the Hawks already have, but that’s KD’s job.

I guess that would all depend on if they care about guys playing their off side. Although pretty sure Allan is playing it full time in RFD.

He beat Hedman twice (behind the net and then in front of the net) for a dirty net front goal.

He might get pushed around some, since he is 18, but he seems to hold his own.

It’s going be great when this team learns how to work as a team. There is very little support on either side of the ice. The forwards aren’t supporting enough in the d-zone and the D have trouble supporting the offense. Not sure if it’s a communication issue or if there simply is that much of a talent void.
- Chunk

More it's talent on offense, more it's experience on defense.

Can always find one in free agency when the time comes. Bedard already makes more little plays than the McDavid, Hughes, Matthews, etc. of the world.

I see a lot of Crosby in him, but with a much better shot. He's just on a different level processing wise.

No disrespect meant to you, but I think Kyle isn't looking for just a big future NHL defender, he is now on the hunt long term to find and develop a Cole Makar attacker (and if he has more size, the better).

They have to have a runway for the Icehog defenders they drafted and probably have their eyes on a attacking/ defending defenseman in the 2024 group if he sits as the best player available when they select.

Remember when I said way back that bear wasn't toes or Kane, but more?

Barring injuries, we really got the special door prize last draft.

Can Korchinski be that guy? At 19, when he decides to carry the puck on the attack from the D zone. Not much that can stop him.

Keep it in your pants. My comment was to state that they would call it on a rookie as opposed to a veteran

That hit is called a penalty a decent amount of the time....put that in the questionable category. We see players turn away from contact and eat the boards. Refs call boarding on it often enough.

Your comment stated nothing of the sort.

. Your comment had nothing to do with rookie vs veterans.
