If they swapped places in time do you think there would be a difference in Pittsburgh’s past success and Edmonton’s current amount of success so far? Or do you think that would be similar and it’s more of a franchise success/failure?

Ok really confused on this one. The Oil actually ahowed up, played the new system and really i wrwhelmed and win vs the Kraken in a very good game for them. And then sack the coach/asst coach?!?!

Team finally buys into the system the coaching staff wants and gets results and this is the result? Only to beingnin more alumni cause thats always worked, and yet another coach?!

Oil fans already know the GM and team makeup/depth is the issue. C'mon. Coach taking the fall here yet again but nothing changes. Placebo minor few games tgey get better before crashing again and then what?!

You are technically correct my friend. But if I’m not mistaken Olczyk was hired 2 years before Crosby was drafted got to coach a rookie Crosby for about 25 games.
On the other hand after the Oilers won the draft lottery aka the McDavid Sweepstakes they proceeded to hire Chiarelli who then hired Todd McLellen. TC got to coach 200+ games with McD

Ok, you didn't say coaches with 25+ games. Even still, Crosby had four different coaches coach him 100+ games and not only three. If Sullivan didn't come in and win two more SCs, the Crosby+Malkin era would be viewed as unimpressive overall.

I think that when the Oilers lost to San Jose, the decision was made, but the logistics wouldn’t let it happen until after the Kraken game.
