Something needs to be done because it’s just not working. - nyisles7
They’re a streaky team that’s not very good. They’re not that young (or fast) either. |

None of Skinner’s saves were tough.
We’re in for a looooong season. |

It just looks like they’re going through the motions out there. I know they are giving their all in their own minds but they are just not playing at the level needed.
If you’re Lou you can’t sit back and let this go on for too long.
Whether a new coach can or can’t motivate them to play better you gotta try it. It can’t be any worse than what it is now.

That’s not happening. Coach is going if they don’t start winning.
If that doesn’t help or change things up then it’s time for a rebuild around Bo, Barzal, Dobson, sOrOkin ( FU Streaks ) and Romy. |

Lou brought them respectability when he got here but it looks like he's doing to the isles what he did to the devils and leafs. They have gotten older, slower and don't have much in the pipeline |

Lou doesn't value picks. He's said so. It's time for a new vision. I don't know who wants the job after coming in with so little to work with. |

It’s just the progression or winning curve of a team. They have a window and when it closes it’s over. Players get older, injuries and wear and tear take their toll.

That’s the problem right there. You have contracts like Engvall’s and Mayfield’s. Love Varlamov but four years? Great we have a few million coming off after this season but we doubled down on stupidity with these long term (frank)ing bozo contracts. Mayfield for seven years?
Go ahead fire Lambert but the real problem at this point is Lou. You can bring trotz back and you’d probably get the same result. Missed the playoffs the season before last, miraculously squeezed in on a Penguins collapse last season only to be embarrassed in the playoffs, then doubles down on the same lineup. That’s Lou’s fault not Lambert’s and now we’re stuck with these ridiculous contracts. Same thing he did to the Leafs and Devils. Time for the old geezer to be put out to pasture. |

Lou did not have the energy and vision to make real changes, so he brings back the same team that was not good enough to win. Lou's idea to get past Tampa was to bring in Chara and Parise and the next year Romanov but let's put it all on the coach. Lou felt the team needed a new voice. Do they need a new voice again already. It never we need new players. Do not dare touch Lou's precious vets. |

It was pretty obvious last year what the right thing to do was. Obvious to everyone except for Lameriello. Instead of trading Mayfield we now have him for seven years? Lol. That’s his fault nobody else’s. He won’t pay the price for it though but he should. In fact he’ll more then likely be rewarded for it when his son probably takes over. Guy did a lot of good for the organization but his times up he needs to go before he does anymore long term damage. |

They don’t pull together a good trip. Lane is gone. - nyisles7
But we’ll still have Mayfield for 6 more years after this one.
He looks like a newborn moose calf trying awkwardly to move around.
I just wanna know who we were protecting when we let Devon Toews walk. Seidenberg? Boychuck? Andy Greene? What a terrible (frank)ing decision. |

Lou just did not put in the work during the off-seasons to improve this team. It was easier to bring everyone back when it was clear it was not the right thing to do. Lou better not think about trading another #1 pick. |

I don’t think it was laziness I think it was extremely poor asset management and over valuing what he had. |

Even the hockey writers were wondering what Lou was doing bringing the same team back that was not good enough. It was dumb if not laziness. The rest of the league is trying to improve. You cannot stand pat. |
