Tage Thompson got hit with a puck last night, and they were saying he will "miss a significant amount of time."

It's pretty hard to be an optimistic sports fan in Buffalo right now.

What in the heck was that in that Bills game?

Well at least the Bills are go....

..

Oh no...

- Scabeh

What a clusterfrank.

When you consider the refs game them the win against the Giants (obvious pass interference on the final play, no call), this team should be below .500

It's pretty sad when I start thinking I'll abandon the Bills this year and start cheering for the Detroit Lions.

The De-franking-troit franking Lions.

Unless you have one of the top 3 or 4 goalies in the game a goalie will just be as good as your team is.

They have a couple superstars in Dahlin and Tage which is the toughest thing to get...the rest of the team is meh.

The hardest thing to do is turn a page into a playoff team and I dont see them doing it this year.

- Santo_44

IMO Buffalo needs a goalie

Everyone is focusing on the 12 men on the field call at the end of the game.

Frank that.

Look at the entire game - the Bills were absolute poop. And it's been like that for almost every game this year.

They play like poop for at least the first half, finally get the offence out of 1st gear in the second, and then come up heart-breakingly short in the final minutes.

Fix the damn team.

Excellent question.

I'm starting to wonder the same thing.

I hate seeing that happen to a guy, even if he does play for the Habs.

Leafs have two extra wins (1 less game) with all their stars healthy
The Bolts are missing the biggest star in vasi and are 4-4-2 in the last 10 while the leafs are 5-3-2.
Im hoping the bolts do miss the playoffs, but once vasi comes back, no doubt we'll be playing them in the first round.

- Fakepartofme

2 wins and a game behind is a lot. Especially when the Leafs haven't played their best hockey.

Tampa does not look good.

They have the same amount of wins as the Sens.

Reminder that 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, AHL player, low-ranked prospect got the Leafs ROR 75% retained and Acciari

Probably similar value for Tanev and Zadorov.

Zadorov is a bit better than Acciari but ROR is better than Tanev.

Nothing significant was given up, CGY fans need to realize this.

a late 1st?

I don't look at late 1sts and see it as significant

a late 2nd is not much either.

Nothing was traded to STL that they could say "wow this piece is really going to help our rebuild"

Like the Bruins. One of those any day now..
things.

Love Bruins and Bolts staying in the playoffs. Keeps junk teams like the Habs Sabres and Sens out

- systemtool

I have to give you all a lot of credit.

Successfully predicting 10 of the last 2 playoffless Bruins teams is quite impressive.

- Santo_44

Let's do the math, shall we?

Leafs are currently on a pace for 98 points (60% win percentage. With 67 games remaining, they need 77 points to get to 95 (took a little less last year to get a wildcard, but 95 is a good historical guesstimate). That means they need to play at a 57% win percentage.

Bolts are currently on pace for 82 points (50% win percentage). To get to 95 points, they need to play at 60% for the rest of the year. Three more points than the Leafs.

Or 1 more point in December, 1 more point in February, and 1 more point in April.

That sounds pretty franking close to me.

I hate to agree with Santo, but he's not wrong and I have been saying the same thing for a while now. Yet, like Boston, Tampa just keeps chugging along.

But, we've played only a quarter of the season and the Bolts usually go on an extended heater at some point in the campaign (usually around the midseason). So, before we pass final judgement, let's at least wait until the Xmas holiday and see how things play out.

And besides, Santo, if you start eulogizing Tampa too prematurely, you are gonna trigger our resident Thrashers fan again.
