Thanks... And it's a shame too... the potential is here withBill, and there are few alternatives. And TBH, it'll be the the same anywhere... it's the nature of the beast, and the users.

Look at Bill's Twitter account of late and his need to restrict/mute... and when have we ever seen him so defensive and sarcastic? *sigh*

There's really only a handful of posters here that are toxic. Lot of good posters with wide-ranging opinions. Many are at least open to different views. I myself need to do a better job of not engaging with the former and enjoying conversations with the latter group.

It is a statistics argument. You just don't want to see it that way and that is fine. The fact that you don't know how to do a statistical analysis to even know it is an irrelevant data point doesn't change the fact that it's an irrelevant data point. Commonality doesn't equate to causation. If you're arguing that commonality does equate to causation then I don't know what to do for you.

I know you want to keep arguing the point because you're righter than everyone you disagree with so I'll let you get the last word in now.

- atibus

I didn't say it wasn't a statistics argument. I said it wasn't a pedantic statistics argument and that it was a bad argument. However, in your reply above, now that is pedantic. If you think I'm wrong, why aren't you arguing that? Instead of this?

You can have the last word now.

I don't think the people here get it... I'm talking about riding with the flow, and living in the moment, as opposed to the constant negativity that the vocal majority love to dwell on in here. Sure the PP is putrid and must be discussed... but so must the effort and when coaches are doing well that should be noted as well as when they are not.

I get the high and mighty approach by some, but I rather discuss on an even keel... we all want more... we all want a return to a constant contender. We can only discuss OUR OPINIONS; they are merely that, no matter what the keyboard cowboys think they have going.

My point is that I believe that this forum should mirror the games and the Flyers play. When they schit the bed, call them out... when they work their arses off and win or lose, give them props rather than tear them another AH. They are what they are and on a path we keyboard cowboys cannot direct.

They might not be the Habs/Isles/Oilers/Wings/Hawks dynasty BUT this season they are fun to watch... unlike some other seasons. I have mixed feelings on Torts; don't agree with his methods but see his achievements. We are on this ride together with them... it is what it is, and riding our high horses does nada... Today the Flyers should be receiving props and not be thrown under the bus... last Tuesday, after the SJ game, they should have been torn apart for their loss.

I'm a season ticket holder who suffer ls through every single loss... but I want to be able to attend/watch games that are enjoyable. Are the Flyers mediocre? Sure they are.... Do the Flyers work their tail off and complete most games? Yes they do... Do the Flyers have enough talent to contend? Not yet, but hopefully they will... Do I know as much as the professionals working in the game? Not in the least... But after a 3 for 4 road trip where they worked hard enough, and got enough breaks to EARN their overachievements, I expect to come on a Flyers Fan forum and read some props for a bunch of young pros who are giving their all... not post after post of negativity from people who quite frankly come off as enjoying being negative (not all, you do understand).

I get it... we all want a contender... we all want a hood team once again... we all want star players.. I GET IT 100% but tearing them a new AH when they are giving their best, and actually winning does nobody any good except fir the Negative Nellies, Debbie Downers, Keyboard Cowboys riding their high horses and thinking that they are all that... and the players are merely puppets here for us to criticize when they lose, and ignore when they win.

The Flyers are playing winning hockey... the Flyers are playing fun hockey to watch... Hopefully the Flyers are on the right track.

Too many times I come in this forum and I'm bored by the back and forth arguments by the egomaniacs in here... and then there's time like this when I find Negadelphians ignoring a fine win.

I'll be honest this time; I'm NOT sorry for the lecture... I'm sorry that I came to this forum in hopes of reading some honest game breakdowns off of Bill Meltzer's fine blog; I'm better off on X (formally known as Twitter)... there I just ignore the negativity, and read the honest thoughtful Tweets (Xs)... TBH I'd rather read fanboys amongst the meaningful stuff than read the Negadelphians who are only happy when they are miserable.

The Flyers have won three straight games on the road against three quality opponents; I don't think you are all aware of it... Sorry to break the bad news to you guys.

When they are giving their best? Should we give them a participation trophy? I have higher standards. Working hard and trying hard does not cut it. Every team does that. I have to see a path to the cup. I think the organization has improved somewhat but honestly, in a very small way. I don't see them on that path to the cup. They no longer get the benefit of the doubt from me. I gave that to them for a lifetime as a Flyers fan. They don't get bonus points or a go sldtar for trying hard.
I think there is something wrong with labeling reality as being negative. Live in the bubble if you choose but please don't lecture me on how I need to be. I know you don't really mean any harm or aren't trying to be malicious.

Everyone's opinion is fair game. Commenting on opinions in agreement or disagreement is fair game. When you get into telling people what they should do and how they should act as a fan. That crosses a line to me. Like I said, I think you're normally an even keel and fair guy. Which is why I posted that I don't think you meant anything by it. It was just out of line in my opinion. So, we can be done with and move on. Or not. Peace to you also

A bubble 🫧 burst easy. Flyers missing quality depth if key players get the injury bug.

I disagree. Foerster skates fine. His issue right now is he is squeezing his stick. However, I really feel he is playing the right way and once one puck goes in for him, a bunch more will follow.

He's not a bottom 6 center. He is at best a 4th line center and has never played a full NHL season. He had a good game last night but to this point, he has been mediocre.

Contradict for sake of contradicting, don’t you ever get tired? He had played well this year for the Flyers.

You repeatedly ad nauseum posted that the Flyers need to draft in the top 5. That the overwhelming best way to get elite talent was to draft top 5. Now you're changing your tune. Just another contradiction.
- MJL

No contradiction, and I’m not going to waste my time explaining it again to you,. You are just a person with very low intelligence or just likes to contradict for the same on contradiction.

Poehling has a CF% of 39.39%. A GF% of 33.33%. Which means when he is on the ice. The opposition scores about 67% of the goals. 43.80% SCF and 47.17% HDSCF. Where is the evidence that he has played well for the Flyers?

Don't you ever get tired of being wrong?

This new tactic you have here is not going to work for you.

You telling someone they have very low intelligence is beyond hysterical. Are you sure that's where you want to take this?

Well said and thank you! Despite some of our differences, we all have had to suffer through a rough stretch of Flyers hockey. I was too young to really remember the Cup wins, so I want to see one Cup win that I can enjoy before I'm too old and don't know what day it is. It's going to be a while but I still watch and cheer on the Flyers no matter what. Sure the current team is not going to do much, especially with the Defense we are putting out there. That said, I'm enjoying seeing the kids getting ice time (despite my disagreement with Torts and his scratch system). Complaining on here every day about the team, ND, management, etc won't change anything so let's enjoy things like winning 3 road games against quality teams. I personally am looking forward to Foerster breaking out and start scoring, as it will happen. Good night and good Hockey!

LOL You broke your own record for time with a snarky reply. The poster made a lot of good points which i agreed with, and there you are right on cue. I watch the Flyers because I'm a fan, enjoy hockey, and want an escape from work, life, etc. That's what sports are for. You should follow another team that does things the way you prefer. Plenty of teams out there. It will be a while, but I'll stick with the Flyers till they get better. I might go pick up the Jonesy Lager for the weekend and I'll have a few in your honor! Cheers!

It wasn't a snarky reply. It was a legitimate question. You're doing the same thing he did. Trying to tell others what they should do. Who are you to tell me what I should do? What I would prefer is the that the team I have followed and rooted for my entire life to do what it takes to be successful. Rather than what they've been doing for the last decade or so. Do I have your permission to feel that way?

I want them to do what it takes to be successful as well and I agree with you in that they haven't taken the right approach. Sadly, the front office has made many mistakes over the years. I don't agree with them, but nothing I can do about it and neither can anyone on HB. Sure, go on, be miserable and complain about everything the Flyers do day in and day out. I'm just trying to get you to lighten up a bit. It's not healthy to be so angry and condescending all the time. Enjoy life. It's only a game. Good night and good hockey!
