Absolutely he has. Even tonight he's made some quality saves. You'd think to help build even more confidence he'd get a game here and there against less fire power though. Help with the confidence. 6 goals against and I don't put it on him. Deserved better. - Habsolute009
Exactly what I'm getting at. The amount of penalties is out of control and the efficiency at killing them is poor. Hangs their keeper out to dry, whoever it may be in net. Feel bad for Primeau tonight. Liking his game so far this year. - Habsolute009
yeah well I think he's going to receive more compliments than anything, and after letting in 6 goals that's quite an accomplishment.
he seems to have reached another level in his game, giving reason to Hughes to not have precipitated a trade or to put him through waivers.
not sure I'd put Anderson on the ice if I need a goal with one minute left, but whatever. lol
good game. Primeau was excellent in the first, average in the second. still a good game for him imo.
Karl Tremblay with the first star! lol nice - fidopro
Jesse Ylonen with 2 goals watching from the bench...

The amount of penalties the Habs take is absolutely out of control. Feels like every game they're penalized 5/6 times. Feel bad for Primeau. Find it odd they constantly throw him in against the good squads too. NJ, Detroit and now Vegas. Trial by fire I guess? - Habsolute009
I agree…. I think they try to have him blasted to better waive him and not getting picked…
I still think he has the best shot of being 'something' with the Habs over what we know from Jake Allen and whatever Montembeault is. - Habsolute009
Monty is good, but perhaps Primeau's ceiling is much higher, we'll see. I'm no goaltending expert but I prefer Primeau's style when he's "in the zone", he seems more in control of the game.

Monty is ok, much like a Jake Allen. Agreed Primeau may have the higher ceiling, but we'll see if it happens. We won't know much if the Habs continue to pile up the penalties every game like they currently are haha.

for sure. very typical issue though for a younger team with a young coach, it's not like they didn't know this is a problem loll... might take some time before they get really focused and disciplined on a consistent basis.

meh, they barely touched the puck for most of the night. except for Primeau of course. no wonder they take penalties.

When you look at that situation on the long term, Allen can’t be the plan…
I think they are trying to trade him but with the back to back bad games he had, it is not making things easy…

C'était seulement son troisième départ, ce n'est pas assez
je comprends qu'ils voulaient voir comment la saison allait se dérouler avec certains joueurs avant de prendre certaines décisions, mais à un moment donné, faut savoir trancher

well, with the same logic with all those penalties you could explain why they didn't touch the puck and generated any momentum...
again, championship team vs rebuilding one, what do you expect. - Pat1993
honestly? I would expect to see a defensive system take shape. slowly but surely. see improvement on that front. so far after a year and a half.... nothing. I know they're young, I know they have injuries... still. not a reason imo to look that bad in their zone.
I'm not talking win or lose here. I don't give a poop if they win or not. but I want to see improvement.

oh come on, they don't do it consistently but they've had some better nights defensively as well, seeing a lot of good things too from that D core.
