I went back and re-read some of the last thread. Man, a few of you guys just jump on the phucking doom train the moment the Leafs fall behind by two goals with more than a period to go.

I see the Leafs a lot like my Lightning in the sense that you can't write them off if they are down by 2 or 3 with 20+ mins to go. Both teams have enough snipers and game breakers to rapidly score goals in sudden bunches. I was out running errands for the wife today, but I kept checking the score on my phone. And yup, first Bustuzzi broke the snide. Then the next time I checked, it was 3-2.

Then I had to keep checking it to see if Sammy could hold the lead, and he did. Noice.

WTF was up with the penalty shot? What led to that?

Matthews and Marner sound a lot like Stamkos and Kucherov. Runs hot and cold. Coasts along for a couple of games quietly notching an assist or two and then suddenly a 4 or 5 point game. The luck factor comes in when those sudden explosions happen exactly when you need them - when trying to come from behind and not running up the score on a game already in hand.

But yeah, I am learning the true meaning of Leafiness. It is frustrating as phuck to root for this team. I get why some of you gloom-n-doom or get salty from time to time.
