"- Call up both Kulich and Rosen" they don't deem them ready. i dont think they have qualms dumping bryson or olofsson into the wire.
appert discussed kulich's progress just last week. developmentally i dont think it's unfair to say that rosen is ahead. - TheSabresTaco
That's big if true. Have you watched them at all this year? I've only caught a couple games at a buddy's house. In the playoffs last year, it looked like Kulich had reached another level, but Rosen's game is very...clean, that's the word for it. Do you agree with Appert that he's jumped ahead? |

I can't see how this team isn't better with Kulich over VO.
Why is the NHL the right place for Levi to develop, but not Kulich? Wasn't this season suppossed to be about winning?

Sorry for the misunderstanding, Rosen's jumping ahead was my opinion based on what I've watched, not Appert's. I don't recall if Appart shared any kind of opinion or info like that.
Rosen does have a cleaner game. I think they will both impact the game at a high level at the end of the day.
A little over a month ago these guys were virtually invisible in the preseason. Biro and Benson were here because, as Don explained, they were able to impact the game, in the preseason. Those guys won't be here until the org thinks similarly of them.

When it comes to Kulich over VO, I think you have an argument to be made.
I think an appropriate move would be, sign Kane, put him on IR, waive Olofsson, call up Kulich for a few, call up Rosen for a few, activate Kane.
For their current shortcomings, I can't imagine they'd have a worse impact than Olofsson. But, they're pretty serious about not calling these kids up before they're ready. fwiw.

Levi I'd only be guessing at the answer. Way I see it, Levi is more ready for NHL minutes than Kulich is. Even if he's had a relatively rough go of things. At this point I wouldn't mind a demotion. But I don't think that's coming in the next month. Beyond that, I truly have no idea. |

They did kind of peter out in preseason, so I wasn't super surprised. That all makes sense though. Rosen's game does seem more of a pro style somehow, but can't qualify as to why or how. Good post Taco. I don't say this enough, but you make good points often and it's appreciated...gets me through the day.
Edit: That goes for quite a few of you. Appreciate the Sabres convos here. Going on vacation, won't be back until Tuesday, be well and enjoy your holiday! |

Just try to keep it honest. Except UPL, because I hate him.

Vanek shredding the analytics stats and the value of them. As a scout he needs to evaluate players via the eye test and doesn't use them. He thinks there is a place for them but its not for hockey guys. |

I really wish Vanek wasn’t such a lazy, chain-smoking, alcoholic gambling addict because when he was on, there were very few that had his finesse with the puck.
He should have been a regular 50-goal scorer and he could have been a better Marion Hossa, imo, had he better habits. |

If you want to put the best team on the ice right now, I think Kulich is up, Benson and Johnson stay, and Levi goes down.
They should have called Kulich up the minute Tage got hurt. The junk at the bottom of roster is limiting their ability to make appropriate moves.

There's a place for both. And considering their greater usage in all 32 organizations, I'd pose that they're used intently. |

While I wouldn't oppose this course of action, the major issues are still unresolved with this set of moves alone.

Depends what you consider the major issue. I'm just talking lineup. Get out of 11-7, improve the 3rd line, get away from 3G.
Quinn skated today. I'd absolutely take a look at Kulcih before he's back.

His example quotes Zetterberg, its funny and totally understandable from a players perspective. |

I have watched a bunch of games and Rosen has taken his game to the next level, he is becoming a complete 200ft player. I noticed it in preseason with his backcheck and it's grown from there. Kulich is a head scratcher sometimes, he's inconsistent with his back side of the Ice. Both player's would help us if this is what Granato and the 11-7 bring. I like Kulich more cause he can play C and right now we might need a 3C until Tage comes back. |

Do you expect Rosen to assume a 3W position? How big is he now?

Really depends on how the Sabres want to fix there Bottom 6 and if they are dead set on building internally. If they expect to build everything from within than Yes. If they Break down the Blockade and go outside the Organization I think he becomes a Nice piece in a trade. |
