I put the Cozens injury on Adams. Didn’t sign any toughness so guys like Tuch, Cozens think they need to step up. The injury(s) Cozens sustained ruined him |

Tuch got injured as well from fighting. I agree, he even acknowledged they got bullied half way through last year, truly wild how this team has been managed. |

It’s a big part of it. No way he’s wearing a mask still for a bloody nose. He got a fractured jaw or facial fracture. - lulags
Bet it's a Cheek Bone, that last punch Hathaway threw connected just below the Eye. Think it's more he's having problems with the Cage. Lot of problems with pucks in his feet. |

And don't think Clifton or Greenway have dropped the gloves once yet. |

Remember when the Leafs signed Ryan Reaves to address toughness then Marchand corkscrewed Liljegren and knocked him out long term and there was no response aside from Reaves addressing it in the media for weeks after the fact ?

Remember when the Flyers signed Hathaway this off season to match the culture they want to implement and he beat the breaks off Cozens?

Stupidity on Cozens’ part to fight at that point of the game.
Instead of punching faces, how about fielding a power play that doesn’t piss down its leg
That will win you some franking hockey games

Here we go again with the idiotic postulations that somehow if you recognize the team is generally soft, that means you want to bring John Scott out of retirement. |

It was stupid, just like Tuch fighting Brady was stupid. It's a part of the game management ignored, the players are on the front lines, its a fast impulsive game that allows fighting, the mentality of just walk away isn't working.
They play a weak game on the PP because its a team of perimeter players. The coach doesn't know how to manage games, it's bad and a lot of blame to go around, but it starts at the top. |

Coming from the guy who’s been trying to trade Peterka since the offseason started.
How’s that going for you ? |

There’s also no fire on this team. I know a lot of posters here downplay or dismiss team culture, but I’ve seen far less talented teams play much better hockey. Those leadership roles should be filled by players with that type of leadership. I respect Okposo and Girgs despite their play this year but they are entirely too reserved. Wrong type of leadership for these kids completely in my opinion

If you can’t recognize that we get pushed around and rely on 8-11 mil per year players to deliver a response, you are blind to the big picture issue.
We brought back an inept, useless 4th line when substantial upgrades were available for equal or less money.
I didn’t ever insinuate we need more useless, washed up bums in our lineup |

For clarification, I was saying that during the season last year, and I’d still trade Peterka if it got the right return. Fixing the team is going to hurt, and cost you one, or more, of the precious prospects you think we can hoard forever. |

I think a big problem is Donny doesn’t exactly know what culture he is trying to create. A defense first culture? So bring in a completely washed up defensemen to teach it?
Until this team gets a real coach and an identity, it’s going to be tough to pinpoint the right fits from a new player perspective to turn things around.
I agree with SoCal. There is no intensity, drive, will to win in this team. It’s like watching a scaring party most nights. |

JJ's had a nice start, Clifton looks like a big mistake. Easy to make the leap that trading for a better D could have been better than settling for Clifton. Can't be terrified to trade a young player and try to improve your team.
Girgs, Okposo, Jost, Clifton, Johnson. Their offseason is looking worse every day.
