Protect the lead by over playing Okposo and Girgensons is his methodology. It’s been working so well so why not keep doing it - lulags
You put them on the ice knowing there chance of scoring is less than zero hoping they play well defensively. Then with 1:15 left, Girgenson decides to put his thumb up his *ss instead of covering Wilson in the slot. Makes no sense? The other thing that makes no sense is Okposo on PP2? He's got 0 fkn goals ands 3 assists in 19 games - that equates to 13 point in a full season. Why the f*ck is he on the PP? He's great in the locker room - AWESOME make him a GDF assistant coach |

Why do you think Donnie is limiting his ice time so much?

he said in an interview 1 or 2 weeks ago that this year was different and he was coaching to win
which means shortening his bench and leaning on his vets later in the game
when the coach says he is leaning on vets, that is all you need to know |

He's worse than Ralph in a lot of ways.
He wasn't coaching to win last year?

The coaching is failing, or the players reception to the coaching, and the bottom 6. That's a lot to fix, and a self made mess by Kevo. - TheSabresTaco

Remember that when you’re watching Tage, Dahlin, Power, Peterka, Quinn, Benson, Kulich, Savoie, and Rosen for the next decade.
Hear me now, believe me later.

A while back, I listed who they'd have if KA just drafted the next guy in each of his drafts. Pretty comparable group. KA gets a lot of credit for just having all those picks, not becaue he did anything special.

Can’t name many franchises, if any, that have a better core of U24 talent in the league.
Some he inherited and got to put pen to paper long term, most he brought in himself.
If Adams were to be fired tomorrow, tell me there wouldn’t be prospective GM’s drooling to be in this role?
To say his tenure has been an objective failure is false.
Hence the “long game” comment

When will this mediocre play stop already? The Sabres have all these high scoring forwards and once they get their lucrative contracts, they take it easy to avoid injury. The team needs a hard ass coach that will not take any of their pussssy bull crap. Someone needs to whip this team into shape. Apparently, they are playing so poorly to get Donnie fired so Kevin needs to start looking for a seasoned, hard charging coach. - FireRuff
Berube. Happens to be a friend of mine and has mentioned on multiple occasions the Sabres would be his number 1 destination if he parted ways with the Blues |

Talent or potential? There's a big difference.
He's accumulated a lot of 1sts. If he fails, it's because they don't fit together and he waited too long to do anything about it, or too many of them fail to live up to their billing. |

Most organizations don’t enable their front offices the ability to build the roster the way Adams has the last few years and it will pay dividends.
I agree completely though that there is no excuse to not make the playoffs this year. The future is now, and if Adams doesn’t realize that, then he’s set the next guy up with a tomahawk steak dinner to work with |

Looking back on it, seems very clear he didn't need as big of a rebuild as he opted for. He's wasting a lot of prime years.
He clearly doesn't think the future is now. I don't know when he thinks it is. 2 years from now? 3?

Tage, Dahlin, Power, Cozens are here for 7+years and have their best hockey ahead of them.
Peterka, Quinn, Samuelsson (yes I believe he will turn it around)have just gotten their beaks wet.
Ryan Johnson, Benson, Kulich, Savoie, Rosen, Levi and the rest of the prospect pool have their entire careers ahead of them.
The only peak that is/was wasted was Skinners and |

Assume that's Skinner and Tuch. That's 2/3 of your 1st line. Will 2 of these prospects turn into legit 1st liners? Who knows.
Having guys signed doesn't mean you aren't wasting some of their best years. |

If wasting two players prime years provides a window of opportunity of being a legitimate cup contender for the remainder of the decade.
It’s the price of doing business |

I don't dismiss not trying harder last year or this year so easily.
