The caps game the other day we deserved the win and tonight we deserved the loss.

As a fan I enjoy every win, but what is frustrating is that this year (by many signs) is another development year to find out if we have a goalie or not. Stanley Cup is every year not every 4.

Last year they were all offence no defence.

This year they are doing much better defensively for the most part at the expense of completely suffocating their offence. Almost Kreuger like.

They generated nearly 1.5 xGF in the third and it won them the hockey game.

Kudos to UPL though as he’s playing much better this year.

Hopefully he can sustain it

It was said last season that if they could get to league average defensively with the offense they had, they'd be a good team.

They are league average defensively so far this season in terms of goals against per game, but they've dropped to 25th offensively.

The entertainment they brought when watching their games last season is sorely lacking this season.

They complement each other's games well.

Which is 100% true, but so far the coaching staff has been unable to find that balance without sacrificing one end of the ice for the other, and until they do so, will continue to struggle.

New Jersey has one win in their last 7 games, going into their barn on the back end of two games in two nights will be a huge challenge for them.
