He'll be sent down when Gryz is back (unless some sort of move is made). I don't think Poitras got the minutes he deserved last night (of course much of that could be attributed to ALWAYS being on the PK). Sure he coughed up the puck a time or two but he also got the puck behind the net and in the corners several times...the feed up the slot was perfect, to bad JD had already skated through.

Both kids are going through the growing pains. It is bound to happen. I agree Poitras needs a few more minutes. Would be nice to see him get a bit more PP time too

I also agree that Lohrei will be sent down.
Poitras, for his size, manages to win puck battles along the boards. He will get better once he adds more lbs to his frame.

Also game #9 coming up next for Lohrei. I wonder if they will send him down for another stint or keep him up. His play hasn't been bad. Some rookie mistakes but that was to be expected. His ice time has dropped a bit since the start too. Rolling under 20 mins a night.

Definitely not his best game last night but he has still shown promise and there is a lot to look forward to. He has a contract so the 10 game sample doesn’t matter.

Yeah, Lohrei needs minutes and once Gryz is back he would end up on the third pairing not getting enough minutes to learn the position. He can be a minutes beast in the AHL which will be a better option for now. We will no doubt have more injuries so he'll be back and forth all season

For a team that is so good on the pk, why are we so bad when the other team pulls the goalie? I've only been able to listen to most games this year, so I haven't seen the late game collapses with my own eyes.

You're right, he isn't slide risk eligible. So it really doesnt matter. For some reason I was thinking he was. Oh well.

I'm enjoying the youth infusion so far. They are going to learn.

For whatever reason I have noticed that when its a PK situation, their PK guys are more aggressive at pressuring the puck and forcing mistakes by the other team. The few pulled goalie scenarios I dont think they have their most aggressive guys out there and they play a more passive, zone style defense which gets exploited by good passing. They need to be more aggressive on the puck in the last couple minutes of these games.
