Interesting stat of the night? Tonight's game was only the 3rd time this season that the Flyers went into the game as the favorite and yet here they are holding down second place in the Metro! Someone is doing something right. |

They are 4th in points percentage in the Metro. The Devils behind them have played two less games.

No reason to sit Cates. Put Poehling on the 4th line where he belongs. Scratch Deslauriers permanently and insert Frost in the lineup. No reason why Brink should've been scratched either. - MJL
I would not mind trying this for a few games ... but Torts has a soft spot for a throwback player like Nick, so I can't see it happening unless Nick gets hurt. |

Didn’t get to watch the game but man, they’re on a solid run here. Very enjoyable and kudos to them. Really looking forward to seeing how they fare in divisional games vs rangers devils etc. |

Am I really going to look at it realistically and factor in the difference in games played? Yes, I am.

They lack talent but they played well today. They have no finish in the lineup. Their PP is worse than the Flyers but they held their own at 5 on 5.

Columbus winless in their last 9 games, good thing they have Provey on their team to help them through it.
Poehling had a great game today, and Zamula had a solid weekend. |

Bobby Orr couldn't turn that team around currently. What are you talking about? Provorov played a strong game.

Yes, I am. - MJL Quite the accomplishment regardless to be in second place points wise at the start of Turkey Day week! Of course, after they lost to San Jose I had them being at the bottom of the eastern conference by Turkey Day. Whoops! |

I’m a little disappointed that Frost doesn’t appear to be in their plans. I’ve been pulling for him since the Flyers took him and I was able to watch him in SSM. I think there’s more there…I think the Flyers may regret not nurturing him for a little longer. - landros 2
I 1000% agree with this! I want to see him succeed but I've accepted that it won't be here in Philly.
The flyers will regret not nurturing him and I hope it makes torts look like a jack ass, not a jack adams |

He's just trying to get a rise. His latest hot take is that he's not sure if York is going to make it in the NHL. Other gems are he doesn't see Farabee as a top 6 NHL forward. With his 14 points in 18 games.

When they lost to sj, I said well, the wheels have now fallen off. I didn’t see this coming. What I will say though is that, over the years, when coots was in the lineup, we were always competitive. I just didn’t expect he’d come back and be healthy tbh. He and Atkinson are providing some solid vet presence imo.
Ps: my god what a snipe by tk on that goal right under the bar short side with very little room. Guy is on fire. |

Couturier has been really good lately and he's rounding into form. Still not completely back yet but getting there. So many people don't realize how good of a hockey player he is.

Absolutely. It’s because he’s not that flashy. Lots of small plays all game long where he’s in proper position and makes the right play. Both on o and d. It adds up over a game and several games and stabilizes the play. I think that has been a big part of the good start. |

The Flyers are playing a strong cohesive team game and Tortorella deserves credit for that. The biggest reason for the improvement though is getting Couturier and Atkinson back. Farabee getting healthy and back to where he was heading. Konecny of course continuing his growth as a player. Sanheim stepping up and some improve depth with the additions of players like Brink and Walker. It's a shame Tortorella keeps feeling the need to jerk players around.
