So the Jackets fired Babs for being a weirdoh and replaced him with the "progressive young" coach...who promptly benches his star players and has the team playing like poop. Should have kept the family watcher, at least for the drama.

what was so progressive about Vincent to begin with ?

For what it's worth, I think we have. Compared to how patient we've been in the past at least.

There are many things the team could be doing better on the ice. Some of it belongs to the player but some of it belongs to the coaching staff imho.

We've been very patient because we know he's a rookie coach who's also learning and he seems extremely good at individual player development which, let's remind ourselves, is our top priority at the moment.

Once we're ready to take the next step in our rebuild, I still think we should get an experienced coach to help St-Louis because I really think he can become a solid coach down the line.

I've been extremely patient. not my fault if I do not see any imporvement after a season and a half.

btw, remember a few weeks ago I told you I was not seeing anyone in the media going againts MSL. everyone was in awe with his press conference.
well not anymore. I've seen a few journalists/former payers over the past 10 days starting to speak up.

I would argue that adding experience behind the bench to help him out should've been done earlier, they don't have to wait for a next step imho.

voilà. I think he is excellent for players' development, one on one, with their personal skills. that's not a head coach.
as a head coach for the system.... he's not up to par. he needs help. and the sooner the better.

We've seen plenty of improvement in individual player development though. Can't argue with that.

And there we go, we all agree!

Now let's grab a beer and talk about how much we all hate Gaston Therrien!

and even as a team, not so long ago they played great against the bruins and won, but consistency is an issue for sure, typical problem to deal with for a young team.

They've had some good games for sure. I really enjoy how they are battling and not giving up, which isn't a given.

The players really seem to want to play for St-Louis, that's a big plus.

But I do feel some of them are completely lost in the defensive zone out there sometimes. As I said, some of it is on the players, but I'm sure we could improve our overall strategy as well.

We probably will at some point.

yeah, Burrows and Robidas aren't the most experienced guys either, I'm sure they get along really well with the players but at times they may not always have the answers that they could actually benefit from, which comes back to what we were saying earlier, adding someone who's been there and could help better guide the team.
