Torts wields a LOT of power in the organization. He's not "just" the coach and absolutely not a "mouthpiece". More than Danny becoming GM, the scales-tipper in balance of power was with Jonesy becoming POHO because he and Torts are in lockstep about most (not all, but most) hockey ops matters. It is very much the "triumvirate" that was described in the summer.

Pretty much what I posted yesterday. This is going to make him think you and I are the same person even more. Hysterical.

you would have to think this will all bubble up when they Flyers hit an extended rough patch, that is inevitable. DB could always make roster moves to force Torts, but that won't happen while winning and probably won't overall.

What you said makes sense "wield", folks with huge egos are more likely to be extreme when they have power.

Pretty much a death sentence for the Flyers becoming a legitimate contender any time soon. Jones and Tortorella think alike and see the game the same way. Old school. It pains me to say because I've been a fan of Keith Jones the guy and personality.

Bill, I get that you don’t like Torts because he scratches your favorite player but it becomes increasingly embarrassing when you try to disparage other players on the team in an effort to defend him when you are partially paid by the team.

At least this I what I have heard from people who have been with the team longer than you.

Not saying you can’t have an opinion but perhaps you let the coaches coach. We are winning.

So then you’d agree he’s not “running the show” and has Jonesy and Danny “in his back pocket” - they are in lockstep together for the most part - which is what I said in a previous post. Torts is just the one we hear from the most.

We are all here talking about Torts day in and day out rather than Jonesy and DB and I’m sure they prefer that.

- black_francis

he is running the show at the nhl level. No doubt about it.

How do you switch accounts so quickly? Except for that one time 😂

No one is debating that they’re the triumvirate that they claim to be. But that’s not the same as folks saying “Torts runs the show and Danny and Jonesy are sitting by idly as if they have no say” which is the narrative tossed around here daily.

Then the annual good Friday day game against the Rangers. Which I'm pissed I won't be able to watch.

They're not making the playoffs in my opinion. Too big of a hole. They shouldn't panic and try and trade to save this season. If a smart move presents itself, make but otherwise work to improve internally and take the better draft pick.
- MJL

the old rule is that if you're out of the playoffs by thanksgiving, you are likely not making it.

Statistically, pretty much. Not impossible but highly unlikely.

Not sure why, but I always really enjoy watching that game. It's a tradition.

Keeping the 1st round bye and home field advantage. Detroit is only 1 game behind them.

MVS dropping the wide open game winning TD pass for the Chiefs is going to haunt him for the rest of the year. The easiest TD catch of his career that didn't happen. Glad they won but lots to clean up to get to where they want to go.

- Flyers_01

clean up? they're 9-1 it means the other teams are just no as clean

Wonder how long Danny will last with this arrangement. Seems more of a puppet for lack of a better word.

Good info Bill. Most thought it was that way.

Still pumped over the eagles win
- 2Real

It's a good feeling. Unfortunately, the thought lingers in the back of my head that Eagles did not beat Chiefs, Chiefs lost themselves a game. Too many unforced errors in the second half that doomed them, not the Eagles play, unfortunately.

Anyone who has been paying attention should already know this. It's not like the Flyers have been trying to hide it but there are those who will not believe what is in front of them.

With the drops they had, that certainly has some truth to it. In football and all sports, the team that makes the plays, wins normally. The Chiefs didn't make the plays. They didn't score a single point in the 2nd half. The Eagles improved as the game went along. There are plenty of areas to look at but all this team does is win.

It was the same way with the issue of the old guard and Clarke and Barber involved. Pretty much the same group didn't want to believe that either. It's staring you right in the face.
