Eagles are an above average team in a mediocre league. There...ya happy? Wait, you're never happy, so why would I ask such a silly question.
- Phillywhiteout

Making yourself look stupid again. Keeping your percentage at zero. The Eagles are the best team in the league currently. Which is all you have to be.

You have some asinine and irrational need to hate non-Flyers Philly sports teams. It's incredibly immature.

Really, I think you're very badly confused here are and conflating different conversations. One was a conversation that took place a while ago about the overall rank of different sports and how the NFL is a cash cow. It still is.

The other is a conversation specifically about the Eagles and their chances of contending for the Super Bowl. A conversation that I've had with numerous people on here. One in which I said that there are no great teams in the league this year. That you don't have to be a great team. You just have to be the best team. Which the Eagles are right now.

I don't archive anything.

You are very consistent. Every day you make yourself look like a fool and an idiot.

Oh look, the troll is coming out and calling people names now. The King that lives on here 24/7 doesn't like to be called out and please stop with your lies! Yeah, you said it's a cash cow and every clown under the sun knows that, but I argued that it is that way as much about betting than the quality of the games and you came back saying that the NFL is a very good product! Stop lying to save your skin from admitting that you were EVER wrong. It's really a joke that people go through life not being able to admit that they are ever wrong. I actually really feel sorry for you.

The NFL is a very good product! What in the hell are you talking about? What am I lying about?

Your personal opinion of me is irrelevant. All I have to do is get you posting and you take over, stepping in it. Every single day. So, keep on feeling sorry for me. I'm laughing at you.

Oh, and that other dude calls me repetitive and boring. You have called each and every person on here childish and immature at one time or another unless they cowtow to you and agree with everything you say. I actually find it immature to root for teams blindly simply because you have lived in that area for your entire life. It's like being a robot and not being able to think for yourself. Sheep!!

The product is awful compared to what it used to be. Just ask Tom Brady. Oh wait, that's right...you know more about the game than the best player to EVER play the game. Just like you know more than NHL players about Torts. Clown!

Last season the NFL generated 18.6 billion dollars in revenue. Up a billion from the previous year. No, it's not a good product. LMAO. What on earth are you talking about?

Keep posting, by all means. Keep asking Tom Brady.

You're such an ass. You had to be on your debate team in school. You sure know how to spin things when you are cornered. Why do you keep trying to talk about finances when I'm talking about quality of play on the field? Oh, that's right...cause you know you're wrong.

When did you corner me? I'm stepping on you like you're an ant. Which is about as difficult. Again, I have had multiple conversations on the Eagles and how there aren't any great teams in the league. What do you think that means? Despite that, the NFL is still a great product. Generating record revenue every year!

Phantoms win 2-1!! Carried the play against a very good Marlies team for most of the game! PK looked really good and they have now won 4 in a row! All good in Flyersland! Torts for the Jack Adams!!
- Phillywhiteout

PK has to be good, as they are the most undisciplined team I have ever seen. Also, their lack of hand eye coordination led to two consecutive delay of games. Of course when you are coached to just dump everything out this is what happens. Also, their 1 on 1 defense is Gd awful (actually I saw several 1 on 2's where they were beat).

Nice positive take on tonight's game. You'll fit well on here. Yeah, there were lots of mistakes by both teams (it's the AHL), but the Phantoms carried the play most of the night to the point that the Marlies play by play guy said that if it wasn't for the Marlies goalie the score would have been much worse. And for the record I'm not a fan of Lappy as the coach down there and I never have been.

It's just a fantasy...it's not the real thing. Sometimes a fantasy is all you need! Little Billy Joel to go with the fantasy world that you apparently live in. Talking about stepping in it. You just doubled down and said that the NFL is a great product! The best player to ever grace a football field would strongly disagree with you as would I. Thanks!

You just doubled down and said that the NFL is a great product. I don't have to corner you with Billy Joel lyrics. You're doing it to yourself. There's actually about 8 total teams that are worth watching in today's NFL. The rest are vanilla and boring unless you are a fan of that team or have some personal gain riding on the game.

It is a great product. Generating the most revenue of the 4 major sports. Again, they generated 18 billion in revenue. 11.9 billion in profits. Each team received 374.4M dollars from that. They will increase that this year most likely. This is not difficult to understand. In your case, it seems that it is though.

Double down on the financial aspect of things when it's irrelevant to the disagreement at hand. It's okay to admit that you were wrong once. The sun will still come up tomorrow. I thought the Flyers would be in last place in the eastern conference by Turkey Day after they lost to San Jose. I was wrong!! See how easy that is?

Think about what you're saying. You're saying that the financial aspect is irrelevant to a discussion on whether the NFL is a good product or not. That is unintelligent. Why do you think they generate that much revenue?

We've discussed this at nauseum. The NFL will always flourish despite the lack of a quality product on the field due to betting and fantasy football leagues. You dismiss this as a huge factor, but that's simply incorrect to do. Again, there are other reasons. It's really the national past time despite baseball calling itself that. On Turkey day all other sports shutdown so football has the stage. They also only play one game a week. They have lots of things going for them, but the product itself has been faltering miserably in the last 5-10 years. Just go around the league and look at the quality of the starting QBs that are starting for their teams right now. It's brutal...

There is no lack of a quality product on the field. You are uninformed on how the NFL generates its revenue. The majority of NFL revenue comes directly from its television and streaming partners. 11.8 billion of the 18+ billion in revenue the NFL generated last year, came directly from selling the TV rights to various media outlets. How do you think they're able to do that?

The Product itself has been failing miserably? What in the hell are you talking about? LOL

Here is the revenue of the league for the last 6 years. The only dip in revenue was in 2020. Care to guess what caused that? Are you able to see a trend by any chance? Goodell projects the league will hit 25 billion in revenue by 2027

2022: $18 billion
2021: $17 billion
2020: $12 billion
2019: $16 billion
2018: $15 billion
2017: $14 billion

You just don't understand the logistics. Really sorry to inform you of that, but it must be done. You just can't see the fact that all that TV and streaming money is coming in because of the very reasons that I mentioned in my previous comment. They still are getting tremendous ratings due to the factors that I mentioned above and that translates to the huge TV/streaming deals. The product is mediocre as my buddy Tom Brady and I have said. It's simple reality. We shall see if Goodell's projections are correct if the product continues to decline on the field. Why do you think they call roughing penalties whenever a QB gets breathed on? The refs are being instructed to call everything cause they need to keep what QBs they have left healthy. Mic drop...

You're wrong and you're uninformed. You haven't provided a single fact. You haven't supported your opinion with anything. I know, I don't understand the logistics. Hysterical. Betting and fantasy football are not the driving forces for the league generating revenue. I know, I'm a bad guy because I'm using facts to make you look foolish. You're welcome

A bad guy? You said it...I didn't. Facts are useless if you don't interpret them correctly and you are failing to interpret the facts that you are portraying correctly. They are actually irrelevant to the state of the game as it exists today. The NFL is living off the quality of it's past, but if it keeps parading this level of product out there year after year things will change. It will be slow because of how far it is ahead of the other 3 major sports, but eventually this poor quality will translate elsewhere. Why do you think you keep seeing the same teams on national TV week after week. In the NFC it's the Eagles, Cowgirls and Niners. Detroit is good, but you don't see them often on national TV with the exception of TDay. In the AFC it's the Bills, Chiefs and hell, I don't even know of a third team. I guess Jacksonville. I forgot Baltimore is in there. The Dolphins are a fraud.

The revenue that the league generated is irrelevant to the state of the game? If what you say is true, which is certainly isn't. Why isn't revenue declining?

Provide some facts, some reference that supports your claim that I'm interpreting the facts incorrectly. That the league earning 18 billion in revenue. With each team earning 347M in profit, does not factually support that the NFL is an excellent product.
You keep seeing the same teams because they draw viewership. The media entities paying billions of dollars for the rights want to have what they think are the best teams on TV to get higher ratings.

I'll put it in perspective for you. Last year the NHL generated about 4 billion in revenue. The NFL sold the TV rights for Monday Night Football, which is one game a week. For 2.7 billion a year!

That's enough dealing with colossal stupidity for one night. See you tomorrow.

Well, I gotta get up early and work. I don't know if you have a job, but I do and we are getting nowhere here. You completely are dismissing the point and trying to make it strictly about revenue. I know it's a business and that's the point, but I am strictly talking about the product. I know we live in a lemming society and most people simply follow the media and whatever they say (I don't). One last thing, when you have discussions with people on here you should really talk to them and not down to them. Your condescending nature is really off putting, and you need to get off your high horse and telling everyone that you are making them look foolish. This comes from a dude that has managed lots of people in his lifetime and you really should try to heed this advice if at all possible. It will serve you well in your future endeavors and relationships. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Thanks for making my previous point with that last sentence. It looks good on you. They keep showing the same teams cause they know most of the league sucks! Yeah, the NHL doesn't generate a spec compared to the NFL, but it's a better product as far as competitive balance goes. Hell, the NHL is a better product cause you actually sit down to watch a game and you are WATCHING THE GAME! The NFL has to pay for all those rights fees with a gazillion commercials. I swear there are more commercials than plays in a football game and it's not even close. A bad product. Thanks!
