Plenty of better teams than the Flyers aren't dragging a useless goon around on the 4th line. So do the guys who play hockey on those teams not understand it, either?

Nic D doesn't even kill penalties anymore, and at ES he's been outscored 35-20 as a Flyer.

That statement you replied to was one of the more ridiculous comments I've ever read. Talk about disconnected.

Gonna find out a lot about the Flyers in the next couple of weeks! Their schedule is as follows...Isles, Rags, Isles, Canes, Devils, Penswhines and Penswhines! All Metro foes and we shall see if they are up for the challenge!

Eagles continue living a charmed life, but you don't win chips in November last time I checked. Could they have caught anymore breaks in one single football game starting with the missed blatant holding call on their first TD? WTF! A 6-4 team disguised as a 9-1 team.

- Phillywhiteout
they also missed a pick on the last kc td. however, we discuss hockey here. maybe, stick w that, eh?

It was a legal play with the stance the receiver making the "pick" took.

We regularly discuss the Eagles as well as other sports on here. You're new here so perhaps instead of telling others what they should stick to. Try and fit in and go with the flow.

Has Atkinson been unlucky, or is he playing zero defense this season? The amount of goals going in the Flyers net with him on the ice is extremely high, but it is only 18 games in to the season.

The Caps are 8th in the league using an actual NHL player like NAK in their bottom 6.

That's right. NAK's back.

Kevin Hayes was -50 with the flyers and he even put up points.

and pouted when he was benched.

I, too, wanted him far away from this team.

Save it….the O line for the Chiefs is one of the most penalized lines in the NFL. For good reason. The holding calls that were not called the other way were too numerous to point to one. Big Red and Mahommie whine every single play to get calls, and they do. If you want to point to one call, what about the pick play on Byard at the goal line? You can’t do that 3 yards down the field.
The Eagles are 9-1 because they deserve to be 9-1. Have the played their best ball this year? No… (Dallas game was close)…that should scare the rest of the NFL….even not playing to their ability they still win.

The other night he had 3 ten bell give a ways. He’s on a long leash, because he’s a vet…if that was Frost?….oh never mind.

Yeah, guess which forward has been healthy scratched 8 times this season. The veteran conceding 4.63 goals against every hour, or the 24 year old conceding 1.51.

https://www.naturalstattr...ines=single&draftteam=ALL

You have to laugh at Torts treating Frost like he's the biggest liability up front when he has the best ES GF% of any Flyers forward so far this season.

Reaves hasn't played since the 10th, a game where he got 4:33.

Wilson is an entirely different class of player than Nic D.

There are definitely some better teams that do exactly that.
I’d prefer to have a guy like Tom Wilson…I’m sure most teams would. A guy that can fill that roll and play useful minutes. They are far and few between. Looking through the rosters almost every team has some guys that fill that roll….are all these teams wrong? Are all the decision makers wrong …no because they know full well the importance of the roll.
Sure some don’t have legit heavy weights or a guy like ND, but which teams are you referring to? There’s a reason why a guy like Patrick Maroon has his name on the cup 3 years in a row.

They will not ice Reeves until something happens…then Reeves will be back in….mind you his game had better pick to a point we’re he’s not a total liability. TO has had issues with their top guys getting manhandled the last few years …they tried with Simmer…his game fell off a cliff…now they’ve tried with Reeves and some tougher kids like Domi and Bertuzzi. Pretty obvious management saw an issue.

That reeves contract was worse than the hayes contract. He can’t play, Trievling has done a horrible job thus far.

He tried to address an issue…but Reeves has really struggled to keep up in the play. You are correct that contract is not off to a good start.

Agreed. When we start losing badly and players tune out the coach and it no longer works I’ll be right there with a lot of you.

But if we are winning and they are fun to watch and really playing a different tune this year - let’s enjoy the wins and see how it plays out. The daily moaning that the team is doing well but “not the way I would have done it” or “not with the guys I want doing it” is exhausting. We have kids in the lineup. There’s a modicum of competition - not a bad thing. We look ok. For now.

I get fatigue fugues from the bombardment of "I have a keyboard and something to say" guys.
My observations are attuned to yours.
I'm having some fun! In and of itself, that is a reward for being patient when it wasn't fun.
A lack of tedium is all I ask. I believe the team is earnest.
The removal of a couple of overpaid sloths has improved my disposition toward the club.
The team uses stickwork a lot as they are not an oversized group. They appear to be good at this. The shorter passes (especially around their goal) are reflecting a growing confidence in each other and a solid base to construct the rest of the play.
Sometimes they are a little too aggressive and the resultant errors can be egregious. This is not a bad symptom of a poor system but the effect of one that is growing. Make your mistakes, learn, improve. That seems to be the situation now.

They are basically the same team as last year with maybe worse goaltending. Klingberg was a horrible signing and they just don’t have the d to overcome crap goaltending. I suspect they’ll lose first round again. Definition of insanity really. With nylander emerging, maybe you try to flip marner and a puck for an impact dman.

.. now the oilers, that’s a first class mess. If they don’t get it going soon, they’ll miss the playoffs altogether. Apprently the new coach can’t play goal.

The Flyers as a whole, are not an aggressive team. They are improved in that area from last season but still need to be more aggressive by system and design then they are now.

What makes you different from those you label as "having a keyboard and something to say"?

I would say dont try and fit in here. Bring some positive things to discuss, and not the same old torts is awful song and dance. Some new insight would be a pleasure to read. Dont fall into the MJL trolling, and just looking to argue and not offering anything of substance.....btw, hextall one of the worst GMS ever
