That brings us to Simon Nemec. The Devils' other young stud defenseman was injured during a qualifying game while playing for Slovakia. We haven’t heard anything about his status since then. There were reports that he was in pain after the collision, but that is the gist of it.

Since we haven’t heard anything from the Devils, even an acknowledgment of the injury itself, it could be bad news. We don’t want to speculate, but the fact we haven’t heard anything for weeks shows that it’s at least something.

The Devils spent assets and cap space on depth on defense, and it looks like they will need to use it right away.

So Fitz said he doesn't want any wienerheads which now has people saying was holtz or Marino a wienerhead

I can’t wait to get rolled over this weekend

I’m freaking irrationally giddy over what we’ve seen. All the new adds contributing. The team looks night and day from last year- meanwhile Buffalo looks like we did.. coached by Ruff. This year we’re anticipating, on our toes, ahead of the play, organized and proactive. It’s really incredible and hard to believe.
And we have depth everywhere, especially on D. We have a whole extra nhl level defensive pair. Amazing.

I think cotter will be a bigger add than expected and the D does look much improved but have to see how they handle offensively strong teams

I though kovacevic has been pretty good

I think unless casey keeps this up he may be sent down so he gets the experience and since he is effective on the PP not sure how much time he would get with Hamilton and L Hughes above him
