What’s funny is people throwing crap like that out there in an attempt to look smart and discredit someone, when the reality is, they’re just showing how dumb they are.

Most of the teams that picked 10-32 only have one or two kids who’ve made their roster thus far since the 2020 draft. A lot of teams, like Vancouver, Washington, Calgary, Pittsburg, Tampa & Vegas have zero games played or full time rostered kids in the past four drafts.

Dallas 1, Winnipeg 1, Florida 1, Nashville 1, Carolina 1, Boston 1, Colorado 1, etc.

It's kinda funny, no doubt, but I think too much is made out of the Oilers for no particular reason. Canadian internet hysteria. Colorado and Tampa kinda went through similar phases with a bunch of high picks before they won. MacKinnon himself said, the year they finally won, that he hadn't won poop in the league and it was his ninth year in the league.

Stamkos was 31 before Tampa finally figured it out and he won a Stanley Cup. It was his thirteenth year in the league. McBaby is 26 years old, he's been in the league eight years, they have a lot of time to figure it out. Tampa made the finals in 2015 and then missed the playoffs two years later. Winning is not easy!!!

The pressure to win in Canada is crazy compared to the USA. Which is, in part, why a lot of players don't want to play up there. Yes they want to win, clearly, but being asked the same question on a daily basis by the likes of Mark Spector and Gene Principe gets a little old, I would imagine.

Don’t get me wrong, the Oilers have some great players but their lineup is chalked full of crap, they now have the worst contract in the NHL with Nurse, they wasted so much money they can’t afford goaltending. Time for them to have another do-over.
