It’s literally baffling how the Canucks can suck for many many years and then they finally get good players, but some of the fans want to get rid of them because they don’t want to pay them. It’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in a fanbase. Championship teams all have three or four highly paid players that the team is usually successful with. It’s not gonna change. The Canucks have one of the dumbest fan bases in all sports, not just hockey.

Don's logic...

Miller 1/4 season of showing at near 31, he has finally grown into a mature player. Model player.

EP just turned 25 a week ago. Has had some ups and downs with his maturity but never has shown the level of selfishness and immaturity Miller has been known for. Weak pos doesnt deserve patience or respect.

This is pathetic.

What’s pathetic is your inability to see other people’s perspectives. Can Pouty grow and mature? Of course. I’m just not willing to bet the orgs future on him until I see it. Hence the short contract.

Good thing he isn't the captain then

All those players have been complained about – they price that they paid getting them, or the price they're paying them now, or the price they're gonna be paying them on their next contract/in X years.

Hughes was a good choice. Pouty would have been a terrible choice. Yet the Elias fanboys were furious when he didn’t receive the C

I don’t disagree that the Canucks have the least intelligent fanbase in hockey but the reason some folks don’t want to pay Pouty is because they don’t like him as a player. Skilled but not a leader. Also, quite frankly, very unlikable as a person. He is a freak. Not because they don’t want to pay their top guys. Don’t hear anyone complaining about paying Hronek, Hughes or Miller
- CanuckDon

I understand that, but they don't really have a valid reason why. Much like Quinn Hughes, who's become a fantastic player, young players have warts in their games, EP40 is no different. At 23/24 he scored 102 points, those kids don't come around very often.

How much you make is less important than what percentage of the salary cap you're going to eat up. Gotta project that into the future.

Your perspective just goes in circles. You talk about the window being now but you are freaking out about EP. Wasnt too long ago you wanted to trade Hughes and the rest of the team. You are ridiculous and predictable. You'll turn on Hughes when he has a few struggles in the future like you have almost all this core that you are now calling a window.

He's too entrenched in his bias. Player who hasnt fully matured at 24/25 is damned while one who hadnt done it yet was called a leader at 30.

This team has a damn good punch down the middle with Miller and Petey. People need to put away the pitchforks. The timing of this nonsense is ridiculous to say the least.

If people just look at the top teams in league, Colorado, Tampa, Toronto, Boston, Florida, Vegas, etc, all of them they all have little to no cap space because they have to pay their good players. Jack Eichel makes 10 million a year, EP40's better than him IMO, gotta pay your best players. That's the deal.

Yes, I wanted a full rebuild: I didnt think it was possible to do a retool like they have. We are lucky to have the GM we do and obviously Hronek has had a bigger impact than any of us could imagine

This has been going on since the Ottawa game a couple of weeks ago. It started with Nighty who sprung into narratives only after a period and a half of shaky play while dismissing the month of incredible play leading up to that game. That sure doesnt look like he was waiting and ready.

And you'll want a full rebuild at some point this season if there is a losing streak... even if it's not a season collapsing one.
