I’m not saying anything negative about him. I just dont think a player like him is a requirement to win hockey games.
- Grinder47

Kinda comes off as negative hahah but sorry for misinterpreting. I don't think they have near as many W's if its Petry there instead of him. His impacts to the on ice product so far have been huge IMO. I think he's been one of the biggest factors in them climbing out of basement and being in playoff mix as the Thanksgiving break hits.

Speaking of which, all you Yanks getting your big feeds on tomorrow? I went to an American's house here for their Thanksgiving celebrations years ago. What a f'n spread of food...there was this weird dish with sweet potatoes and I think marshmallows? what was that all about? hahah

In order to boost depth, they could always trade over the hill Crosby for a couple of young top-6 wingers.

The very obvious easiest and first fix is moving Chef Carter right into Rakell's spot for the next 10-games!

The sad thing is that you say this as a joke but it very well may happen.

We already have a Carter guy on this forum, and there's really not room for another one.

Don't think so. Sully specifically mentioned Hinostroza, Harkins, and Nylander just yesterday.

I think Hinostroza gets first shot since he was already up. If Rust is out, maybe Harkins next because they also recalled him briefly last game.

If Rust is healthy, Pens scratch two of Harkins, Nylander, and Carter. I'd like to see the idea I floated last week of Harkins at 4C and Accarri at RW where he can be the disruptive forechecker.

Rust officially day to day.

Would have really liked him in the lineup tonight but oh well. Could be worse. Maybe back for the Toronto game?

For sure, my brother is smoking a turkey and baking another one. I am whipping up some cheddar/gruyere mac and cheese with a graham cracker bacon streusel on top, he's got a bunch of from scratch croissants he's making. His wife has a pecan pie and pumpkin pie. Not even sure what my parents are cooking but probably some sort of casseroles.

Rust out tonight.

Samurukov is skating with the team. Apparently he played a game with Edmonton and 2 with the Blues. A righty vet to sit in the press box still makes more sense, but guess he isn't completely out of nowhere.

I tried to tell my whole family I had to work so I could stay home and drink beer with the wife and work on boat motors but I got caught so I have to go to 3 different locations now.

Don’t be an ass and just drink beer with your family. I’d say watch football, but, well, you’re you.

(frank) yeah that all sounds amazing, enjoy.

Our Thanksgiving is always the 2nd Monday of October, so its always a long weekend. This year, on that weekend, I had a glazed ham on Saturday, prime rib roast on Sunday and Turkey on Monday. When I played hockey the day after, on Tuesday, it was like I was trying to skate in mud hahah

Not good...he's been such a stud so far this season. Rangers are really f'n smoking this season, this could get ugly tonight.

hahaha lots of people all alone in this world, Grinder. You are blessed to have to do that, whether you want to or not. I get it though, the older I've gotten the more I just want to kinda stay home and avoid the big gatherings.

Just live a 9-hour drive from your closest family member like us. I am not leaving my house tomorrow.

Just me, the wife and kids. We're roasting a duck, roasting the root veg in the duck fat below the bird, homemade cranberry sauce, homemade pumpkin pie, rutabaga, maple syrup, and bacon stuffing, ... can't wait.

With 2 RW’s out (Rust and Rakell) there is no reason at all to think anyone but Carter. Whether it be on Crosby’s or Malkin’s line is the absolute first choice by anyone attempting to ice the best team. If there is another reason (other than his salary) please attempt explain to explain it. I’d personally put him on Malkins line.

You gents respond to hockey comments like this is the Food Network and yinz are the 2nd coming of Emeril Lagasse!

I’m personally quite happy to be with my family right now. Our youngest is going through a major sleep regression and my parents are taking a lot of that burden on while we’re here. Getting from San Diego to South Carolina sucks but it’s worth it

Yeah. I see everyone in the family that I’m actually close with pretty regularly. I have plenty of friends that are much closer family than a lot of the people I’m forced to interact with during the holidays.
