Cates on the wing with Coots and TK
- Dkos

Saw that, just obvious Torts is missing a center, that is not a checking center.

Man walker is solid. Should have had another shortie. Great shot. Just some bad luck it didn’t go in. I felt like he was a throw in on that trade. Boy was I wrong.

Probably best player in that trade

Ok, but in the end Frost is not better than Laughton and Poehling, and that is why he is sitting. Look, I agree with you about Deslauriers sitting, but that is not happening with Torts, unless Deslauriers gets hurt. Torts just loves him too much. So my point with Frost is really simple, be better than Poehling and Laughton and you will be in the lineup!
- jd250

Oh Brother! Let me know when Laughton and Poehling lead the team in ES scoring for a season. When they lead the team in total scoring for 2/3rds of an NHL season. You simply can't grasp why Frost is sitting. His sitting because the coach is a jackass. Plain and simple. Your final point is simply wrong.
Poehling is playing well but that is a Tortorella special. Elevate a 4th line role player and in a short sample you might get a little bit but Poehling has no business playing in the top 9. Tortorella did the same crap last season with McEwen.

Feels like one of those games where the Flyers need to solve a hot goalie, or in the case of Sorokin a great goalie, and this usually gives them problems. Be ashame if this ends up like the San Jose game where the Flyers dominate large portions of the game and lose. The Flyers are clearly the better team.

The Flyers have outplayed the Isles for a good portion of the game. Dominating though? That's a stretch.

I don't care about ES points in a lost season. I care about hearing Frost's name throughout the game, like I hear Laughton and Poehling's names. Poehling is only 24 years old, there is nothing written in stone that he is a 4th liner. Poehling is the best faceoff center on the team, and has generated several good chances in this game already. I notice him just about every shift, which I can't say about Frost.

You don't care about ES points in a lost season. How dumb. I stopped reading there.

big difference in this game is that the Islanders bury their chances, except that 3 on 1, while the Flyers don't.

The Islanders seem to have 3 players in front of Sorokin all the time, it makes it next to impossible to come back on this team.

What the hell are you talking about? If we hear Hart’s name all night does that mean he is playing great?
RP is what he is. A role player. Role players generally are only play because they bust their arses. In this game RP is having a good game for who he is but the score is 3-1. The chances are pretty strong against RP making it 3-2. He is very limited offensively.
Laughton hasn’t done poop overall this season.
Right about now the flyers could use Frost who actually has puck skills.

so based on your assessment of Laughton and Poehling, Frost should have no problem being in the lineup over them, and yet they are playing while Frost sits in the press box. Perhaps you need to re-assess.

So it is not conceivable that Tort’s doesn’t like Frost.
No, Frost’s play hasn’t warranted him being scratched this many games. The coach is putting his ego before the team.

You better hope Torts does not come to a sudden stop, your head will go right up his ass.

Yea, great idea Laughton and RP on the ice tonight when the Flyers needed a goal? No, you actually would want O talent out there. It was obvious down the stretch Torts had limited center options to get a goal, this loss, like the Sharks loss is on him.

But you heard his name the last minute right? Points aren’t important right now. Maybe the NHL can adopt the RP rule. For every 24 name mentions he gets awarded a goal.

Yes, Frost should have no problem being in the lineup. No matter how many times it is explained to you, it doesn't matter. A poster on the previous page of the thread explained it to you again, stating that it has been explained to you 30 times. He explained it again. I'll explain it again. Frost in the lineup, Deslauriers out of the lineup. Frost, Poehling and Laughton all slotted properly. Understand. The Flyers controlled play in the game and only scored 2 goals. Perhaps they could use one of their most talented offensive players in the lineup. Tortorella loves his grinders though. Playing Poehling over 17 minutes. Just like he overplayed McEwen and others last year. This is why Tortorella hasn't won anything in almost 2 decades as a head coach.

RP is playing good…I’d rather him then Laughton…

They lost a ton of face offs…they missed the net way too many times. They are going to struggle to score some nights. Tonight was one of them.
