Monty played a solid game, made big saves when he had to.

After watching Oilers/Canes…….wouldn’t be surprised if oilers were on the phone with the Habs this morning.

One down, three to go on this trip,

Happy thanksgiving Americanos,

- Slimvinnie

off course, Monty is very tradeable if they are willing to overpay out of panic, if not they can have one of the other 2...

Among the 3 goalies Monty most resembles our #1 but.......

better salary than Allen, more established than Primeau, thats why Oilers would ned to offer somehting good, me think...

personally I don't see any of those 3 goalies to be a long-term solution for the Oilers, but then again acquiring an already established #1 goaltender might be impossible for them, so I guess they may be among the best options available.

If Monty is not your future number one, then trading him would be in the cards. Now the question is , what would you get in return? After watching the game Oilers/Canes, oilers need someone REAL soon!!! It was awful, game was over in the first ten minutes. I don’t know who they have as a prospect that I would be interested in, don’t think Xavier is the player, but it would have to cost them!! If not, keep playing the three and we will see what the future will bring.

Montembault would be a rental for them (UFA next summer), but hes the most interesting goalie out of the 3 for the Oilers. Allen is no more than a back up and Primeau is greener than Skinner and not what they need right now

I dont think its a good idea to trade him, even more so with all those injuries on defense right now in mtl.

Unless they cant agree with his agent on a new deal, I would keep him. But we dont really know about those convos

The oilers have tried to make it work with 3 ahl caliber goalies. Maybe an unproven nhl goalie is the answer

Honestly none of the 3 so far are letting in really bad goals. It's just that the teams gives some many PP and odd man rushes and the sheer number of shots some are bound to go in.

I get it, but in a trade they'll probably try to not overpay by pointing out the goalies' career numbers, which aren't all that great, so I'm hoping Hughes won't budge unless the return actually becomes interesting... I don't see why he would anyway, technically it's the Oilers who are in an emergency situation, not the habs lol.

either they give up on the playoffs this season or they try to right the ship by making some moves right (frank)ing now

cause I just took a look at the stantings and its now or not this season for them

Yup.

I think it's time to cash in when some of the assets are worth something.

Like Anderson last year.
Monty's value is probably at peak right now.

Cash in.. it's a rebuild.
Drive Primeau and Allen. If they fail, you get rid of them next summer.

Habs could always make an offer to Monty next summer.

I would hate it if the habs had to take on that contract/goalie, no need for that poop, unless it's for an insane overpayment that I do not see ever happening.
