He’s 27…..and doesn’t show any indication of being ready for the work load or responsibility and has the Allen safety net IMO. Add in he doesn’t really pass the eye test for me personally. To each their own though. Not like the Habs are in a rush to get that nailed down and figured out.

Et ben, maybe start watching the games... ?

that should help !

you could always repeat that he's 27 for a third time, still doesn't make your point any more valid imho...

Monty is not a number 1. The guy is 27 and hasn’t figured it out yet, unlikely he ever will. Why are some so adamant to try and anoint him?

The best shot currently is Primeau and I’m not sure how I feel overall. Definitely been better while being hung out to dry constantly when he plays.

In any case, it’s not that important right now since this rebuild has a long way to go. One step at a time.

- Habsolute009

Well until we get a legit #1 Monty is it.
the depth drops off after that. Allen, primeau and some kids.
If the return for Monty is NICE then go for it and roll with Allen Primeau if not we will have to trade Allen for mediocre package

Sure let’s go with that. It’ll work out real well long term as the number 1. The guy isn’t even close to even prime Halak.

I probably watch more than you do. But right, I’ll tune in more to see what I already see.

I could live with Monty as #1 for the next year or 2.

So are you saying Allen is a true #1? Primeau?
We have 3 #2 and maybe a 1B MAYBE but with what is on the roster in MTL and LAV Monty is the best we got RIGHT now. Things can change but for now it is what it is

the sample of games he's been playing well is still small, but he's been showing some good things lately, that's for sure. if the habs do trade him I hope the return won't be disappointing.

Where did I say that? Why are you putting words in my mouth? Can’t formulate a proper rebuttal? Never said Jake was a number 1. Check the posts. Simply stated Monty isn’t a #1 goalie and I stand by that. He’s a good backup like Jake Allen. That’s it.

We have 1 pile of poop that is so old it is getting rock solid, 1 pile that has some corn in it and 1 pile that is so fresh it is still steaming.
Like it or not we will be stuck with 2 piles of poop at the end of the year, but hopefully we can get rid of 1 pile

A 6 game stretch of decent play doesn’t turn someone into a #1.

Jumping to that conclusion is comical. Like the crowd clamouring for Halak back in his he day being the #1 going forward. He’s a good backup and that’s fine.

never said he IS a #1, just saying that goalies take time, and at 27 he's just entering his prime.

your reactions are comical.

Not really, career journeyman, inconsistent and often frantic between the pipes isn’t who I’d want as my #1. Again, to each their own though.

well, that's my opinion about your reactions right now, that isn't really debatable

but yes, about the goalies, to each their own, I agree.
