I don't believe in the miracle value of resets and scratching as a coaching tool. The players learns more value from playing through it then from sitting in my opinion. Not until a players play reaches a chronic level. It hasn't reached that point with Zamula. Now I expect him to be sitting quite a bit.

you are another one who always mentions the sabres. Their are 2 parts to tearing it down. 1st part is putting yourself in a position to draft the highest and best players. They have done that and succeeded.

The 2nd part is having competent owners, management, and coaches. This is where they have failed big time. A carousel of GM's and coaches. Though the flyers also have those same traits so they would likely fail as well!!!

Caps got high end talent at the top of the draft did they not? Blues an outlier. Guess that's the flyers model.

What guys do the flyers have coming into their "own"? They have players pretty much every nhl team has, no stand outs at all. No stars at all. No top line elite level players. They have 2 on the way you hope are elite level talent.

I consider players like Foerster, Tippett, Farabee and hopefully Frost as young players coming into their own. Yes, none of them are stars, but they are all potentially 20 goal scorers. Can't really say that about anyone on defense yet, so that's why I mentioned that they need to pick some young defenders in the upcoming draft. I was hoping Andrae would be that guy, but that obviously hasn't transpired and I'm not sure about Zamula just yet.

I was thinking about what you said a few weeks ago how the product stinks. Totally agree. Went through the early games, Pitt-Cinn with 2 bad quarterbacks. Snoooooze fest , 3 minutes left in game. Can make a case for Birds-Bills but even the Bills look bad. I’m taking the Homer factor out. The rest, maybe KC-Raiders but that’s a real reach

If the head coach likes what he sees with Staal and Ristolainen. How does Zamula get back in? What's the purpose of sitting Zamula? His play did not indicate he should sit. He's sitting because the coach is not committed to a rebuild. He's committed to winning and he thinks they're both better. Tortorella is coaching for himself. Not for the Flyers future.

Yeah, just looked at the early games today and the only one remotely interesting is Houston/Jacksonville. Atlanta and New Orleans vying for the NFC South division with 5-6 records. I couldn't name the QB on either of those teams. Great product! Eh what?
