There will be rebuilding in Philly one way or another. When whatever this is fails, the fans will force one. They have nothing to sell. The Black Friday game was mainly rangers fans.

It would be fine if they were actually rebuilding and let him take all the abuse while the team stinks but there hasn’t been any evidence at all that Briere is rebuilding. It’s early in the season and he deserves a trade deadline and another draft before we can accurately judge but talking about resigning Walker is a very very bad sign.

There is no rebuild happening in Philly, but extending a 29 year old dman for 3 or 4 years instead of trading him for picks would make it even more obvious.

The rebuild is over and was essentially a locker room issue that has been solved by sticking with the guys that love to play together. Jones loves Tortorella and thinks he has done a great job. Morgan Frost has done a lot of great things and is a big part of their future. A lot of players will come in and out of the lineup. Cedes to Tortorella on this.

They've generated enough attendance through the past decade. They think that what they're doing is the way to increase it. No what, from that standpoint, they're right. All they have to do is compete for the playoffs. Make it a few times and the fans will keep coming. It will never be bad enough for them to change philosophy.

If this is all true everyone can pack it in and come back in 6-8 years when everyone’s fired and we can do it all over again. Unfortunately Michkov not coming over for another few years will give these guys more time on the job then they would normally deserve.

And all this time we all thought “he’s a good guy to have in the room” had nothing to do with the talent level or execution on the ice. How silly. Perhaps if Edmonton got rid of McJesus and Leon D, for ND, Hathaway, Staal, and Laughton they could make it over the hump.
