According to sources, an alcohol fueled incident involving Perry was alleged to have occurred during an event that included corporate sponsors and team employees in attendance. It remains unclear what allegedly took place, who witnessed it and who reported it to the team.

You can be sure that as soon as management learned of the incident and knew they had to do something with Perry they went straight to team lawyers and NHL head office for directions. And thats when everybody in the organization's lips got glued shut tight. Bad publicity and potential lawsuits to be avoided at all costs. Standard practice.

Before the internet and cell phone cameras, quite a few very prominent NHL players got into trouble. We can all name some of them. But back then teams and the league did the coverup routine. Worst thing that happened was the player got traded out of town.

I think it's funny, so many need to know what happened. I give the org credit, saying you're going to do the right thing and actually doing it are 2 different things. Really don't care what he did, it was a nice win by the boys last night, even if almost all the rookies are so overwhelmed. Actually 2-1 since the news about Perry which makes sense why they got their buts kicked by the Blue Jackets. And i agree with many others here Anderson is an effective hockey player don't get why he hasn't been up here since the start of the season.

I understand why folks wanna know the details if only outa curiosity. ..... Am I the only one who simply does not care and don't need to know why?

What I do care about was every time they showed Bedard on the bench Perry was next to him. Bedard seems to have chosen Perry ON HIS OWN as at least a sounding board, if not a mentor, not Foligno or anyone else.

Love or hate Perry the dude wanted to win badly and paid the price on and off the ice to do so. IMO a perfect mentor and he still had some game left if only as a net front PP guy.

And one more thing that bothers me. I'm old enough to know the pendulum never lands in the middle, always too far right or left. Is the organIzation going to over compensate every time an issue pops up?

If so many people know about the situation it’s only a matter of time before it gets out. Somebody will feel the need to be the guy who has to let everyone know he knows the story. We have a guy on this site who can’t control himself, there are lots of people out there who are the same. And if Laraque is correct, I very happy to hear it’s not about Bedard.

There was no internet or cell phones back in the day when Gary Leeman slept with Al Iafrate’s wife. Iafrate told John Kordic who beat the tar out of Leeman in the next practice. That news got out pretty quickly.

Hopefully Kane is in the lineup and hopefully he is more successful than the others who have had his resurface before him. Jovanovski played 37 career games after his before he was bought out and retired. Nik Backstrom couldn't keep going. Ryan Kessler never played again after his. I think another was Carl Hagelin who never played again.

I don't know if Kane's procedure was different but I guess we'll see what he can do.

Well if adding in a u, subbing an s for z, and sometimes doing the same with a c for an s .... to be fair, for me it's about maintaining assimilatory standards -what with living in a place where they spellz things differently than I was taught. Why do people care? I don't know - maybe I don't -but on the other hand, booze, a 38 year old, playing in the same environment for near on 20 years - that stuff doesn't just start happening out of the blue - it probably would have happened in other stops ... and if that is the case, then what might it say about there?

And get some mental rest too. So far LR just runs the kids out every game, no strategy at all. ..... The NHL world is watching ANA as they give Carlsson every other game off as load management for the 18/19 yr old.

But, LR has 1,400 NHL games playing D so I defer but sooner or later you'd think the kids get a game off here and there.

I've noticed when a rookie struggles for now, they just reduce his minutes in the game. Nothing wrong with that.

I think Anaheim is watching the 40 game mark. So i think you are right everyone is watching, would it be shocking to see the poverty franchise keep him under the magic number so that they can keep him trapped as a RFA for an additional year.

Maybe Lazarus ought to go write instead for The National Inquirer or Star Magazine. Keep bringing up or making connection to an old story; speculating or suggesting a tie in or relatedness to Beach/Bedard/Perry. He must watch a lot of daytime dramatic soap operas then dream of writing big headlines
