I don't care if my father played for the Wings, I HATE any player wearing a different jersey! Please no video for him while he is on the ice wearing different colors. I never understood that. No tributes to an enemy player - EVER.

The Detroit Red Wings will always be linked to Little Ceaser's pizza. Just Terrible.

Well Perry gone only translates into a more likely outcome to finish with a lottery pick. The odds in the drawing might be better but we really cannot ascribe a much greater likelihood to get a top oh say top three choice.

I doubt that KD will part with any descent prospect or any early draft choices for someone who would possess some of the elements in Perry’s game

I also would bet that at this time in the rebuild there is no interest even if at a bargain price to add Laine. The Columbus GM knows Laine has to fetch a good price and probably doesn’t want to trade him anyway. There is a lot of potential in many young players in Columbus and if they ripen then the team as well as Laine should post better numbers.

Even A Boqvist employed mainly as a PP role, could post some nice numbers. Lately he had dressed and played consecutive games but receives under 15 TOI. T Johnson breakout as a scoring #2 center represents one of the young players whose output could affect Laine’s production too. The greater number of players performing well could become a boost perhaps as soon as later this season if Johnson returns and is better

I get the impression Vincent is playing Laine's value into the ground, his mismanagement of line combos has been astonishing overreactive and misguided .

The irony of starting Laine at center and Fantilli on the wing to kick off the season, only to revert back to their natural positions 2 months in is proof of this miss use.

They specifically said he did something that violates his Standard Players Contract and I don't think that would have anything to do with anyone's mom.

Just because the Hawks are being mum on the situation that doesn't mean it involves somebody's mom.

This did not age well:

Charlie Roumeliotis

@CRoumeliotis
Luke Richardson on Corey Perry, who's on pace for 52 points: "I think you're going to have to kick him out of the league. I don't think he'll ever leave willingly. He's not ready to go yet." #Blackhawks

The Hawks, or any other team/company, can’t stop inappropriate behaviour, they can only minimize the chances of it happening through education and creating an overall healthy work environment.

I feel the Hawks have created a healthy environment in the wake of the recent scandal. They’re acting shifting and taking the right course of action. I don’t know if there is anything else they can do.

So, are there any implications for the cap floor? I mean the only way that guy got $4 mil per year was because of that, and I thought it was said that's the reason Hall was not going on LTIR.

There's a game tonight? And here I am talking administrative economics. What's it all come to?

Cap friendly has Perry off the roster and the team is still 10M above the floor.

The Hawks are still above the cap floor. With AA and Hall on IR instead of LTIR, the Hawks are at $62 mil. and are carrying $7 Mil. in dead cap space (buyouts, Keith's recapture penalties, etc.)

Agreed....still despise the Wings but happy for Kane and don't blame him. Way different than Chelios saga.

Sad thing is the Hawks don't have a true rival anymore. Miss the Norris days of stars, blues, wings, and leafs. Blues view the Hawks more as a rival than hawks do blues.

I am sure one will separate itself once the team steps back into the playoff light....but Hawks seeing the Wings as many times as they do the Sabres doesn't seem right. I get why Detroit pushed to move to the east given time zones and playing out west.....but it sucks with 5 of the 6 O6 in the eastern conference.

- SteveRain

I don't blame him either. No big deal really. Part of the problem regarding lack of rivalries is that Blackhawks are just plain awful, but even more so is that division teams only play each other four times--used to be eight in the Norris days, and then you had divsional playoffs as well. I miss all that too.

KD so far hasn't given the details, says it was workplace incident learned about in Columbus and completely denies any family members involved. Calls it a team incident. The League and Players Association had no problem with the Hawks' decision.

Wonder if the Hawks would of done the same thing if Patrick Kane in his prime did something like that?

I'm completely at a loss what could have happened here other than the family member rumors are not true.

Like smack a taxi cab driver or assault a women in his Buffalo house?

I still think it was one of the kids, probably Bedard was told something, or heard something and tattled to his mommy, and mommy told management, like Perry was gambling, planning some rookie initiation, or some thing that would could have brought more bad publicity to the team.

It is probably that simple.

LA-

I think the big thing here is that it happened after the trainer scandal so they have to be extra vigilant, so no. But again, it depends on what Perry did...

Kyle Davidson was emotional, shaken and choking up at times during his 9-minute press conference — particularly about the impact the rumors have had on his star player's family for absolutely no reason.

"Over the last 24 hours, what's gone on has been very disturbing. I feel like I'm wearing it; I'm carrying that. It's tough to see."
