First off ... don't expect Greig and Kastelik to be playing well when they come back. High ankle sprains are notorious for recovery. It might not be until next season when they full recuperate.

Now regarding the defence pairings and using 3 equal pairings .... why not?

Back in the day, the thought of offensive d-men was unheard of until along came Doug Harvey, and then Bobby Orr changed the way d-men played ..... Karlsson.....
We saw the emergence of various defensive structures over time. Just because it hasn't been tried ... ???? Its not hard limiting time of each pairing .... that is what defence coaches are for. Now you can stop worrying about potential pairing mismatches (God help us if now if our 3rd pairing gets stuck out against a top line).

As for Chabot .... I believe he runs the powerplay much more efficiently then Chychrun or Sanderson. Our PP has suffered since he went down.

I am 100% sure that this team with a better coach would be in the playoff race, if not, in a wild card spot. How a team with Brady Tkachuk, Tim Stutzle, Jake Sanderson, Josh Norris, Drake Batherson (Giroux, Tarasenko, Chychrun, etc) is not in the hunt is ridiculous

Brady Tkachuk and Thomas Chabot are the only 2 active Ottawa Senators players that have played under a NHL coach OTHER than DJ Smith for a season. Imagine what a new coach could do.

I don't think it makes much difference if they make a coaching change. It is what it is. A new GM is always destined to make a coaching change at some point.

Problem for the new ownership group and new management is that the moment they move out DJ they own the consequences of the problem. If they keep losing, fans will start going after individual players and calling for changes.

This is really ugly stuff. Not a happy situation and it can get a lot worse.

At one point a weird bounce off the board came right in front of korpisalo. He had to make a very awkward save. It looked like the type that could injure. The only player that said anything to him was a columbus player. Likely asked Are you ok.
That tells me the team is disconnected, disjointed.

I am confident, once it is too late. The team will play lights out. History repeats itself. Fools gold.

On a plus note stutzle threw many checks during the game. Nothing bone crushing but nice to see.

Columbus game commentators are A+ . They give a well rounded view while being pro blue jackets.

Audlauer is sowing the seeds of OTT financial ruin, when apathy sets in people will not care anymore and will not be watching/ buying tickets and merchandise anymore they will find something else to do and they will not come back, or they will switch teams to cheer and support.

Since 2004, any coach of the Ottawa Senators Bryan Murray or Pierre Dorion were part of. In that time only 2 coaches hired by them (Paul Maclean, Guy Boucher) were able to win a playoff round. That is almost 20 years
