That right side on "D" is still a weak point behind Hronek, who's been so good with 23 points in 23 games and a +14, he's been a great partner for Hughes and really good on his own as well. Allvin is looking like a young genius Yzerman GM.

I’m also open for a top 4 LHD. Cole or Soucy could switch over. Gavrikov was once my guy resigned for 2 years at $5.875m. Pesce is 29 so figure roughly 5/7m might do it.

JR is is on in things to the degree that PA confides in him imo. 2-way street on continuing to build a winner. They work together in their own capacity. PA has free reign.

Buyouts & retention has to go through JR.

At the tdl a team could take a turn and a Hronek type deal could come up again. If it happened 2 tdl's in a row, that would be great.

Pretty much leaves it to more grinding the phones & let time work itself out to when opportunity comes around. No rush to force a trade being it’ll be a pivotal deal.

lol I'm not sure on the inner workings of the Flames but it did appear Backlund wanted out at one time too. Winning changes alot of attitudes. Backlund appears to be embracing the C as well.

Aside from Garland's contract PA pretty well has a clean slate next year. It is going to be interesting the to see how he goes.

I mean he is pretty well living in the house that Benning built but going forward he has the freedom to pick and choose.
