I dont know who'd they scratch but I do think that Zac Jones should play one of the games this weekend

he was starting to get into a groove, I don't think its good that he now goes a really long time without playing again

Yeah?! Why do you say that?

It would have to be Gus IMO. And I am not against that for a game or two to see if Jones can keep some of his momentum going. Don't get me wrong, I really like Gus, but process of elimination would leave him as the odd man out if Jones comes in.

Sure, he hasn't been spectacular. But I think he's such an integral part of the D core that taking him out (in favor of Jones) would do more damage than good. This team, for whatever reason, plays better with 55 in the lineup.

I'd choose Gus over him to sit. But I see your point

I think rotating the D is something to consider down the road. Fox needs Lindgren as a partner. They’re like twins out there, they know what the other is thinking most of the time.

I don’t think he was good/a good fit on this team. I’d try and trade him and get whatever we can for him while he still has some value.

He’s fine for the 7th D. I’d trade him for a forward today tho if I could

I wouldn't be against this idea either. Problem is, what kind of value does he actually have? Think we would end up getting a prospect or a mid level pick for him. Do we do that or just ride with him as our 7th D instead? Probably the latter unless you think theres someone in the A that can be as serviceable as him if needed

injuries happen and he's cheap, it's senseless to give him away

what are they gonna do, trade Zac Jones for a 5th, somebody gets hurt and then play Connor Mackey?

For a forward it would make sense since he’s legit the only salary for salary guy we could probably trade right now

Well yeah, that was kind of my point. His value isnt high enough to trade anything for him. And he is serviceable (most nights). We are seeing first hand how injuries can effect our lineup. It makes the most sense to hang on to him. If we could get a first round pick or someone we can plug in immediately, I would reconsider. But I dont think that is realistic

they have so many forwards in Hartford who can make the jump, they really have no defensemen there capable of jumping in

if SJ offered Duclair with necessary retention for Jones and a second that’s something we should trade him for as an example, imo

If you guys won’t let me put Vesey there on the first line, I’m trading for everyone
