Not that interesting. If he doesn't play C, one of the big reasons might be because of their C depth.
I've been told Donnie is a center whisperer. - Lunaion
You see Savoie at Center long term in the NHL?
I do not, and to say one of the big reasons he won't play Center being due to the Sabres depth at Center is inaccurate, IMO.
His game at the NHL level is better suited at wing.
I also don't see Kulich long term at Center either.
Both are fine at wing as the Sabres already have NHL depth at Center. |

So Peterka is on pace for mid-60pts, and Cozens had high 60 pt season last year. Add Quinn back to that line and is it unreasonable to expect them to be a 180 - 200 pt line in another year or so?
Mitts seems like a solid player now, expecting him to be in the 65 - 80 pt range. He is also pretty versatile playing virtually anywhere in the top 9. Having Benson on his with along with another winger or flip flopping Mitts and that player for C and having Mitts play wing seems reasonable. Candidates from among Kulich, Savoie and Rosen there. Could they pop for 150+ pts?
L1 should be in the 230+ pts level.
That seems to me like a solid Top 9.
But missing that grit factor - IonSabres
You seem to be projecting a lot of points. I'd just say there's only so many to go around. They were 3rd in the NHL last year in GF/G and didn't approach that production form their lines.
About 1/4 of points come on the PP. Whoever lands those key spots has a big advantage.

I've given it next to 0 thought. I have no clue who they project at C.

It's also about how the player projects, and neither Savoie or Kulich are projected at Center long term in the NHL.
They're most likely wingers. |

Dahlin-Samuelsson still paired together along with Clifton-Johnson.
What could go wrong ffs.
I wonder what the ceiling of this team would be if they didn’t have to play against the other team and their own coach |

Cozens is 120 win, 125 lost, which is 49%.
Casey and Tage are much lower.
Krebs was at nearly 50% until the last 2 games. - kingcong39
We are dead last in the league as a team. It’s a huge problem. Center is also more than just winning face offs. None of ours really play the position correctly. Could be coaching/training |

Really surprised they still are not trusting R.Johnson at this point. The way the other 2 are playing might as well find out if the kid can do it consistently. |

Play with EJ, get benched because he drags everyone down. Hell of a rotation.

It’s a long season, I can live with R. Johnson watching from up top once in a while.
These d-pairs aren’t it though |

I don't agree there, kid might be in your top 5 Dman already. Had a rough game against St. Louis but he was paired with the other Johnson. Sabres don't seem to know what they want to do, forcing stuff that isn't working. |

Ok, good point
L1 say 30 + 40 + 30 = 100
L2 of 25 + 25 + 20. = 70
L3 of 15 + 15 + 15 = 45
Is probably more realistic
Add
L4 of 10 + 15 +10d = 35
The D kick in say 35
Totals ~285
Last season was 297
Last season league average was 258
I would think those numbers with that top 9 in a couple years is reasonable...to me anyway. |

So is the Analytics Team on vacation?
Does KA have anyone analyzing this and pointing issues out to him and the coaching staff?

Analytics department is useless at this point if the coach isn’t using it.
Dahlin and Samuelsson’s numbers both improve when they are not playing with one another.
E Johnson has been quite arguably the worst d-man in the league this season.
Ryan Johnson is probably one of your top 4 d-men today.
None of it makes sense, and it doesn’t take a Sam Ventura to figure that out. Just a $5 subscription to Natural Statstrick or Evolving Hockey.
I’d love to see the private data that our analytics department does have which I’m sure is 10x more advanced in comparison to what is available publicly |

It's almost like there only used the few months before the Draft. Other than that it Doesn't seem Adams opens any Emails from them. |

And all the Analytics don't add up with how Granato is setting his roster. Almost like there's a discount and the finger is being given to someone. |

It's far from (frank)ing rocket science, but the coaching staff will tell you they like what they've seen, or some other such bullpoop.
Dahlin - Ryan Johnson
Power - Jokiharju
Samuelsson - Clifton
E. Johnson = the (frank)ing bench |

>>> Saw the pairs what do u want me to say they keep willingly playing 2 pairs on D that do not and have never worked at all
>>> Dahlin-Samuelsson is a bad pairing. Clifton-Johnson is a bad pairing. That’s 60% of the even strength minutes with pairs that have never worked. |

If Johnson isn't gonna play atleast 17min a night here, he should be playing 23min in Rochester on the 1st pair. |
