Hip issues. But more importantly, he’s cooked.

I know he is injured but I was looking more for information if he is going to play again this season. As it relates to staying on LTIR for the full season, hence how it applies to the Leafs cap situation.

Who cares? Dude is like a 7th defenseman at best.

FlyerBuzz 🙄

A quick glance at the stats shows that only one Isles defenseman has had a better season than Walker’s 3g, 11 points +6 campaign so far and that’s Dobson. Nice self-own there.

Frankly, Walker has been a big surprise this year. He came over as a salary dump from LA and the Provorov trade. He's been quite good and he's better than most of the Laffs defense. If the Flyers were further along in their rebuild, they'd probably resign him.

Definitely a rare case of a player his age elevating his play to meet the increased ice time. I can't think of any other cases when a dman his age goes from playing 7D one season before, to a solid contributor playing top 4 D. Young developing players sure, but not 28/29 year olds with 5+ NHL seasons.

How do you propose Toronto is going to do this?

They have zero salary cap.
Philly wants draft picks and the Leafs don't have any to bargain with.
Why would Philly want to trade him, anyway? He's been a bright spot on an otherwise below average defense.

This trade will never happen, and borderlines on ridiculous.
If you're gonna start a rumor, Ek, at least use some common sense.

Flyers would be glad to take an expiring contract back, preferably an older player so Tortorella can continue to not play their younger players. Youth makes him break out in hives....

This is how the Walker situation is going to play out.....
1. Flyers are doing fairly well and will think that "they have a chance", ala Jim Carey in Dumb and Dumber (which is an appropriate synonym for their management group)
2. They will hold out for an outrageous return, as they will rationalize, they are a good team so they could just keep him. No trade will materialize. Note that we have several examples of this already
3. Walker will then get hurt, as he is oft to do, and they will not be able to trade him
4. Since they can't trade him, they will double down (as they are oft to do) and resign him to, what will ultimately be a bad contract (once again there is history here)
5. He will spend most of his new contract on LTIR (history)
