Frankly, Walker has been a big surprise this year. He came over as a salary dump from LA and the Provorov trade. He's been quite good and he's better than most of the Laffs defense. If the Flyers were further along in their rebuild, they'd probably resign him.

This is how the Walker situation is going to play out.....
1. Flyers are doing fairly well and will think that "they have a chance", ala Jim Carey in Dumb and Dumber (which is an appropriate synonym for their management group)
2. They will hold out for an outrageous return, as they will rationalize, they are a good team so they could just keep him. No trade will materialize. Note that we have several examples of this already
3. Walker will then get hurt, as he is oft to do, and they will not be able to trade him
4. Since they can't trade him, they will double down (as they are oft to do) and resign him to, what will ultimately be a bad contract (once again there is history here)
5. He will spend most of his new contract on LTIR (history)
