3 and 2/3 you mean. What a train wreck KFC has put together both here and Rock. I really fear Bedard getting cheap shotted repeatedly with NO REACTION from teammates. If CB gets hurt it's on the head of KYLE freekin DAVIDSON. - Hawkytalk
If they sent Kaiser down are they going to send Vlasic down? That goal against WTF is Vlasic doing, honestly it's embarrassing that defenseman don't think the most important thing is to keep yourself between the forward and the goalie. He's been playing well but damn man.

I was thinking the same thing, you talk about a kid that can't receive a pass, if he does he can barely keep it on his stick, then if he does he makes some terrible pass. - BetweenTheDots
The Deutsche Eishockey bundesliga— he’s not long for it |

The Hawks have played 22 games and the only cheap shot I’ve seen Bedard take was Tkachuck pushing him a few times in his chest. - paulr
Actually to me the dirtiest play was vs Boston when he completely beat Lindholm and he chopped at the back of his skates so he would crash into the wall.

Can someone explain, Phillips down, Crevier up, and Zaitsev still in the NHL? I thought this year was for development.
Also, you now have Kaiser, Phillips, Allen, and Del Mastro at Rockford. Kaiser is supposed to play big minutes, I understand that. Unfortunately those minutes are being taken away from Allen, and Del Mastro.
Very apparent, the organization is not high on Phillips, and he would be better off getting a chance somewhere else. |

I think this is their way of saying we like what you did but we want you to work on this and this and that. To me nothing wrong with that.
Of all the kids i keep waiting to see something from Kaiser like last year, I'm just not seeing it. Where did that kid go?

Just venting, but that quick little pass into team mates skates that aren't expecting it from Kurashev drives me crazy, once to twice a game he does this, then i saw him once go at the puck carrier and at the last minute peel off and the puck carrier just hold the puck, drives me crazy, just do your job |

Calgary traded Zadorov. Rumors say they may trade another dmsn, namely Hanifan
Maybe they have someone on the farm team to bring in. Right now I see their bottom two dmen are former Blackhawks: D Gilbert and Osterle
They should not trade Hanifan |

I have a guess LA HAWK
Phillips would be pegged as a second or third pair if he plays in the NHL. KD wants someone who is big and or aggressive. Not someone who has to be prodded sometimes to play aggressively, a willing body checker. Phillips has the ability, but he athleticism but perhaps Allen and DelMastro is a better fit for what ID wants
I would prefer Phillips could be traded for an equally valued young forward
I am anxious it’s to se how solid defensively is Crevier |

Interesting observations from Anaheim vs Colorado game:
Anaheim won coming from behind to win in shootout
L Carlsson goal and also the shootout winner
Byram had two goals # 4 & 5 |

Hannifan is a UFA at the end of the year. If the Flames cannot come to contract terms with him before the trade deadline, he will be traded. They don’t want another Goudreau situation where he walks for nothing. |

I know you have never been a Phillips fan, but I am. It is obvious the organization agrees with you. I am hoping he is traded also, to a team that will give him a chance, not just bring him up knowing he will be sent down when other D men get healthy, no matter how well he has played.

If he can ride his man off puck and plays well defensively- especially if he makes good reads and limits gaffes, then he will play no matter he isn’t naturally aggressive in checking. Just make good pass out of zone too. Maybe Dots/Boiler or whomever it was who mentioned they may want him to work on certain things….might also be a valid point. Phillips is close to being an NHL dman. As you say maybe not with Chicago long term. Minds can change if any particular player steps up though |

Yea i disagree with him they talk about defenseman activating, well watching this game today if the Blackhawks defenseman activated, and turned the puck over while he was down low, there was no forward to cover him today, WTF?
At least we know that the new guy can't recognize the defenseman activating. In fact none of the forwards can so if this is the case maybe they shouldn't activate the defenseman anymore, until they bring in forwards who understand this concept. Once a game they give up a goal because of this simple play. - BetweenTheDots
Depending on what 'activating' the D means, presumably these defenceman are trying to create offence by supporting the offensively challenged forward group on this team. The Hawks are a 1 goal a game squad, can't win nothin in the NHL with a powder puff attack like that.

The powder puff attack makes Bedard’s early numbers look amazing. Other than Bedard there is no threat in the Hawks, he’s being doubled and tripled teamed, even on the power play. And yet he’s compiling decent numbers. Imagine if he had even two other guys who can score consistently making it impossible for other teams to key on him? And this isn’t a shot at KFC, I am pretty sure he didn’t try to build the team this year so he can get another high draft pick. |

Re Kaiser per LR:
Richardson's feedback for Kaiser going to Rockford: "He looked great in training camp, and he had some really good games... He can play here. It's just, for a young defenseman, can you do it every night? And not get your confidence shattered a little bit. It's hard to get it back in this league. Just going to down to work on that and handling the puck a little bit more and maybe more offensive-zone situations and just making simple plays, not making it too difficult. His skating ability gets him out of a lot of trouble, but it also can get him into trouble."
Similar comments were made about Phillips. I personally like both of these guys, but if a guy with LR’s background (not to mention Dean) see it fit to send them down, I’m going to defer to their opinion. |

Anthony Beauvillier is now the only healthy player on the Blackhawks' roster who tallied 40 points in the NHL last season.
He’s not a star, but he should provide some help, as yesterday's game showed. |

I guess little nappi thought the oft injured Hall and AA (who miraculously played injury free last year) would be playing 70 plus games this year, and Reichel establishing himself as a NHL top 6. Things have not gone according to the plan. |

Funny I was just saying to HawkintheD that maybe Beauvelier is that Patrick Sharp acquisition, a younger guy, good wheels, skilled but not showing it on their current team who was acquired inexpensively. Maybe he puts it together and becomes part of the the Hawks’ core? Before we all lose our collective poop, let’s see what Davidson aka Little Nappi, is doing over the course of more than two seasons. So far other than losing, which seems to be the team’s plan, little Nappi has done pretty good. |

He might be the next Patrick Sharp but probably with another team. Do you see little nappi resigning him after this year? I think he goes for the Maroon, Bellemare types as FA signings. |

Maybe, but that is pure luck. The Hawks could also very well pick later. Picking up Beauvelier may prove to be a good move for the Hawks’ depth long term. |

I suppose Rick, i like to see responsible defense and lately just not seeing it. I get the losing and not being good enough, the inability to cover for your teammate and leaving your goalie on an island is frustrating.
I think we are also seeing the coaching staff asking the dmen to be more aggressive with forwards entering the zone, i think this is going to get rough, even rougher than it is now, for a while until they figure out how to. Vlasic was another example of that yesterday.
