they took all of that away for a more balanced approach with two bad free agent additions.

the coaching is bad and the gm'ing is bad. the offense is neutered and it's hardly an issue of bad luck. they don't score and they don't deserve to, either. so, we'll see how much he wants macklin celebrini by the time christmas arrives.

i can't fathom sam ventura telling kevyn adams that erik johnson was anywhere near a decent idea. there are no existing metrics that says he is a positive player. His use is 6 minutes a night on the PK and locker room leadership. And you pay 3.25M for that? How do you expect anyone to take you seriously.

Could be worse... at least you don't have Ken Holland as your GM. Any Wings' fan can testify to that.

Buffalo owned Detroit last season. So I'm hoping Detroit will reverse that trend this year. Wings have had 50% roster turnover from last season so this isn't last year's Red Wings (thank goodness). Yzerman has righted the ship and the Wings are finally starting to turn the corner. We'll see if they can make the playoffs.

Buffalo is stacked with talent (six first round picks on your roster if I remember correctly). I am surprised they are not doing better. Everyone had Ottawa and Buffalo as better than Detroit this season in the Atlantic. Yzerman has done an admirable job cleaning up the dumpster fire mess Ken Holland left in Detroit. The free agent signings have made a huge difference and we still have some good talent in the prospect pool ready to come up.
