Evidence of inflated value due to quantity of draft position. It's an irrelevant and more importantly wrong way to value players/teams.
The Sabres GM spent as much time thinking about this roster as a fly by hockey fan. - washedup20
While I agree draft position is certainly not the totality of how to assess a team's success and/or value... this team still has talent. They're just not winning right now. I saw this team play last year and figured they would build off the success of last season... as it looked like the rebuild was going pretty good and they were going in the right direction. |

I mean Kevyn Adams had a long NHL career, he must know everything then too.
Can’t imagine questioning his judgement right ? |

The problem is the coach is soft as butter and dumb as a rock.
An example, the PP last year was all about Thompson loading up on the puck.
Once NHL teams figured it our the last 40 games last year and first 20 games this year Buffalo is 3rd last in the league.
What is Granato doing on the PP? Still 4 players passing the puck around and trying to get Thompson to load up on the puck. Thompson is out so now they try to get Olofsson to load up on the puck.
Zero adjustments, zero plays on the PP.
This year the opposing team is pushing Buffalo around because word is out Granato is soft as butter. |

This is a potential risk when drafting best player available....KA believed that lie that was sold to him.
Nobody, repeat nobody drafts purely best player available. |

What level of hockey did you play that you feel you have more knowledge than Cozens, Peters and Rivet? Did you play at least Junior A or B? USHL?
Also still waiting for that link to your podcast.

Adams is a yes man. His position as GM goes far beyond just his career and position as a GM. Botts didn't want to sign Skinner and Pegula did. Botts is gone and Adams is here.
Now, where is your podcast and what experience do you have that you feel you know more than Cozens, Rivet and Peters?

I played AAA. Did summer camps at Falcon Hockey Group with the Subban brothers.
Three of my teammates when on to be drafted into the NHL, they weren’t able to stick around and are now playing in Europe.
What does it mean in the grand scheme of it all ? Frank all.
Sam Ventura hasn’t played a lick of hockey and yet will lap anybody in this chat room with his hockey knowledge.
Howie Roseman is arguably the best GM in Football. I’m not sure the Eagles care that he didn’t play any competitive level of football growing up.
Anyone that has a microphone can have podcast ffs.

All good points, you were still wrong about this group and Adams plan.
Now you deflect and pump up the obvious Skinner is a bad deal for this team narrative. Which is correct. |

So you basically have no experience got it.
But you think you know more than Dylan Cozens
Dylan Cozens is literally in the locker room and has first hand knowledge and you claim he is wrong.
If you know so much why are you here posting and not coaching at a professional level???
\I mean if you know more than Dylan Cozens surely you should be coaching. |

I actually think I know more than Dylan Cousins. I am like 17 years older than him. It’s my default setting to know more than Dylan Cousins. |

The offensive talent looked good. They barely missed the playoffs. They're still a young team. Did I watch them every night.. of course not. Lighten up Francis... you seem to have a bit of a chip on your shoulder. |

Check out who is the power play coach.
That will answer all of your comments above. |

Sabres need the Glue pieces that keep everything together. Have all the talent you want, the finishing pieces are the ones that usually push you to that next level. |

This team still has enough talent to make the playoffs. But until they play like it it’s all for naught.
I would have left the coaching staff in Raleigh (heck I would have left them in Newark after the previous debacle).
Adams needed to go for it this year and hasn’t, so for all the good he’s done, I’m almost out completely on him too.
July 10th was still early, didn’t have to wait until December 5th either.
Rutherford has made two trades in the last two weeks.

I agree and will continue to do so regarding the talent here. The depth is missing with Thompson and Quinn and now Tuch on the shelf, but the talent has been extremely underwhelming because of how they play as a unit.
Last year, this exact same talent was putting shots on net, and in dangerous areas.
There has been a gross regression of shooting quantity and quality this year and I'm begging for one person to analytically defend the coaching. |

Early for what ? He had the whole F@cking team signed by then. He left very little wiggle room for anything. This past off-season was the perfect off-season to rebuild the bottom of your lineup and with guys that would have helped more than SirFallsAlot and Retired Man, Jost, Olofsson. It wasn't to early, but it certainly looking like it might be to late. |
