No, I didn't say anything about who he played with. Kessel averaged over 18mins a night with the pens, scored a wack of PP points and was an integral part of winning back to back cups
Trying to minimize his importance on those teams to prove your point about skinner while thinking Greenway is some kind of great addition to this team is weird
Greenway is a bottom 6 forward on any good team, Skinner is a top 6 forward on any team - ieetbred
If you want to maximize Jeff Skinner’s skill set, Jordan Greenway is exactly who he should be playing with.

Yeah, the HBK line, they made a huge deal about it, so now that he didn't play with Crosby, not your original argument, you called him a 3rd liner, it's supposed to mean something? You can't play the 2nd most minutes and be a 3rd liner, not possible - Wetbandit1
Kessel anchoring his own line further lends to his importance on that team
The sabres are at best, a two line team. Thanks adams

Girgensons replacement. He’s probly out for a long time - Sabretooth9
That’s kinda what I was thinking. Hope #28 comes back soon, Sabres are giving up a ton of goals since his injury.

Okposo needs 16 minutes a night, clearly - Hank Balling
It is approaching a Ralph and Botterill level odor, where Montour was played at forward from time to time.
Wrong - washedup20
Someone needs to play defence when your LW is flying out of the zone to cheat for offence.
Greenway is the closest thing this team has to a Bonino right now and every line he plays on tilts the ice.
The points don’t show it, but his impacts are there

Omg lol
Selke style tage is who he should be playing with and brick hands Greenway if this team was any good would be a 3rd 4th line defensive penalty killer
If I have to watch Greenway fumbling passes from real top 6 players the rest of the season I already know we won't sniff the playoffs

in one hand you say bonio is third liner
and on the other hand you are comparing greenway to top 6
side note wayne cheated for offense on every shift for the oilers

Selkie Tage has a 67% xgf% with Greenway this season.
Dips to 49.2% without him.
Makes you wonder who was actually driving the defence on that line don’t you think ?

At some point, you need to help contribute on the traditional scoresheet, or you're just another Larry.

comrie is the reason for inflated stats
in his 3 starts since girgens went down
7 goals
6 goals
and 5 goals (1 was empty netter)

Benson worked well early in the season with Casey and Greenway, and Skinner has a track record with Tage and Tuch.
Why change those combinations?
What's the minutes break down of the above? - kingcong39
6 games with Greenway
10 without.
Think it’s around 37 minutes with Greenway, 66 minutes without

Playing with fire when you have Skinner and Tage together.
When it works, it’s great.
When it doesn’t, you have two guys cheating for offence and it does more damage than good.
3.52 xGF% when together and 3.41 xGA% over nearly 590 minutes together

The worst part about this season is that the injuries provided an opportunity to really let Krebs, Rosen, Kulich, heck even Savoie run for a decent sample size and we did nothing but play 11/7 and roll Okposo out there for 800 minutes a night.
Donnie sitting back and saying “well injuries” does hold some merit but my god just because you’re in a hole doesn’t mean you have to keep digging.
That’s the Sabres season in a nutshell
