The worst part about this season is that the injuries provided an opportunity to really let Krebs, Rosen, Kulich, heck even Savoie run for a decent sample size and we did nothing but play 11/7 and roll Okposo out there for 800 minutes a night.
Donnie sitting back and saying “well injuries” does hold some merit but my god just because you’re in a hole doesn’t mean you have to keep digging.
That’s the Sabres season in a nutshell - Swedish_Jesus

KA: Hey Jarmo, we want Jack Roslovic, he played for Donny
JK: Sorry Kev, he’s from Columbus and we want guys who wanna be here
KA: Sheesh, I’m not allowed to give up assets for anyone unless Donny coached him
JK: I’ll give you some waiver fodder for a conditional 7th
KA: Done!
And you don't see an issue with a ~2 to 1 TOI differential or a 5 to 3 game differential? - Wetbandit1
50 minutes last season Greenway-Cozens-Tage had 54% xGF%.
Combine this seasons sample and last seasons and you have nearly 90 minutes and roughly 58% xGF%.
It’s still an incredibly small sample size but I can’t control that.
Greenway may not hit or fight as much as most want him to do, but he brings the exact element to the team that you would hope for and there is enough minutes whether here or in Minnesota to say that he’s good defensively

And neither should you draw any meaningful conclusion from said data, but here we are.
Skinner this year is -3 at evens, last year he was +18 in 1100 minutes. And he's been a positive Corsi player at evens since Darth Krueger was let go. Including this year. Bottom line is he produces more than he allows.
I mean, for Christ's sake, Connor McDavid is -2 at evens this year and he was +21 last year. Those are eerily similar to Skinner's numbers

Both McDavid and Skinner are brutal defensively.
The fact that McDavid and Leon don’t play a lick of defence has had a huge effect on the Oilers whether one wants to admit it or not.
The difference between McDavid, Leon, and Skinner though are the first two put up more points and are much better PP weapons.
Tage and Skinner are your middle class version of McDavid and Leon. Perhaps upper middle class but I am sticking with it.
Playing Tage and Skinner apart can have benefits of providing depth scoring across multiple forward lines.
Does that mean that you can’t load them up at times and play both together ? Absolutely not.
There are times where McDavid and Leon play together and times where they don’t.
The Sabres having multiple scoring lines are better then loading up a top line that is the equivalent of high stakes roulette at the Bellagio

Joel Sherman of The New York Post reports the Yankees are acquiring outfielders Juan Soto and Trent Grisham from the Padres for catcher Kyle Higashioka and right-handed pitchers Michael King, Drew Thorpe, Jhony Brito and Randy Vásquez.
Finally. The deal is happening. The Yankees are pushing all of their metaphorical chips to the center of the table for 2024, while the Padres attempt to rebuild virtually their entire pitching staff. Soto heads to New York in one of the biggest offseason blockbusters in baseball history. The 25-year-old generational slugger should benefit tremendously with the move to Yankee Stadium’s high-octane offensive environment, and could easily eclipse the 40-homer threshold for the first time in his career next season, making him a certifiable first-round selection next spring in all fantasy drafts.

The Oilers are a sh¡t show because they can't build a team. It's not McDavid or Draisaitl's fault.
I'd be totally fine with a Skinner - Mittelstadt - Peterka line. But you can't just throw 3 guys together and presto! they play well together. You have to base the lines on how well the guys play together.
The major problem is there isn't enough talent to go around coupled with too many anchors on the team.
Adams hoped for career years from everybody again, which is the dumbest mistake a GM can make, and the easiest fireable offense, but uncle Terry stopped caring about the Sabres roughly 8 years ago.
This scouting report describes the kind of veteran forward the Sabres need to add, not the dreck they have been adding.
>>> Leads by example
Not the most naturally skilled scorer in the NHL but his relentless compete and willingness to battle in the trenches separates him from the pack.
Physicality comes in the form of leaning on opponents / setting screens / boxing out defenders along the boards to extend plays.
Averaged 20:09 TOI in (22/23) ES and PP#1 - very rarely used on the PK
Aggressive directing pucks on net. When he gets a lane / look, with the play on his stick, his first instinct is to drive pucks on net (276 SOG last season)
Takes a beating out front the net but never backs down.

There is a special place in stupidville for whoever wrote this, also, Toronto should definitely do it:
REPORT: As I speculated last week, the Toronto Maple Leafs are reportedly interested Rasmus Ristolainen.
Per @ADiMarco25: “He is still valued throughout the league, especially for playoff play. One team believed to have internal interest in Ristolainen is the Toronto Maple Leafs, though trade discussions between the two sides have not yet materialized.”

Really surprised they included Thorpe, guy has Ace potential.
