I see where this team is headed and what the limitations are going to be and it doesn't cut it for me.

Don't disagree on some of the above but with ND, that line could do better with a younger more skilled player. You ever think the 8 minutes is because ND can't be given more minutes? You could put Allison or Tanner L on that wing. You could have Ryan P, Hathaway and Allison/Tanner L. It is not just about the callup, it is about seeing what Ryan P can do, getting full value from Hathaway, ND limits that idea.

I’m sure I’m on an island with my line of thinking but I believe the fourth line is meant for role players. So depending on what your definition of “skill” is, I prefer players who can handle minimal minutes but still serve a purpose. In my mind, the last time the Flyers had a 4th line worth complimenting, Betts, Laperriere and Powe were on it and you could insert Carcillo if one got hurt. I wouldn’t call these guys skilled players but they could grind. They could kill penalties. They could win you faceoffs. In other sports such as basketball for example, you have guys who only block shots. Only rebound. Only steal. I’m not making an argument for Nick D to play on the fourth line. We shouldn’t have offered another Jody Shelley contract to anyone just to fight but I do think Nick D can fill in if someone gets hurt as a warm body. I don’t know how realistic it is to waste a skilled youngster on the fourth line when they can get minutes in the minors. That’s just me.

Why can't Zamula handle it right now?

Who cares? Why wasn't Frost given a chance to perform all season? That matters and if it's not Frost and Staal versus Zamula. It would be the same situation with other players. That's what this organization has to get out of.

100% on Allison in the beg of the year, but he did not exactly handle the demotion all that well and remember no one else in the league wanted him. He was lost for a few weeks after he got sent down. Getting better of late. If he continues to play a little better, then yes, call him up and bench the resident whipping boy. Would love a - playing up to his potential Allison - on that line with with out DL.
