Some don't like the bo deal and I respect that but to me he's helped take the pressure off barzal and allowed him to play his game without trying to do too much. This team is tied for 2nd while blowing a ton of leads.......so if they figure out the 3rd period they could be ok

My issue with the Bo deal was the timing. They could have used a Bo type player during the Barry years. Islanders may have won a Cup. Team was more aggressive tonight and not letting the other team live in their zone.

The timing of it was my main issue would’ve rather started the retool with what minimal assets we had. Made that pick in the mid first round in a strong draft. We would’ve been a year ahead of the game. This site is pretty much unusable at this point with the advertising.

The major tell with Bo is going to be how he performs in the playoffs (provided we get in,). I think the money was way too much for him but with the rising cap and subsequent contracts, that won't look as bad in a couple of years.

More specifically, working hard away from the puck. He's always worked hard with the puck, but not necessarily smart. He's not trying to overdo his entries and is reading plays much better. Does Lane get credit there?

I think it's entirely fair to separate liking Horvat as a player currently and recognizing that it will almost certainly be a terrible contract at some point. Doesn't have to be one or the other. I like Horvat a lot, I just don't like the contract.

His one timer goal was a good example, puck went to the far side and he immediately went to the soft area and the puck came right to him

I'm talking about him as a player contract aside. I think whoever got him was going to pay that price so I accept it. His deal isn't a killer as he at least produces its the long term deals to mayfiled and others that will hurt them. Holt cow I can't type 2 sentences without some full screen ad blocking out everything
