again, not sure what her intentions were but the Patreon content is free right now... but yeah, unless she starts a podcast or something I'm not sure blogs alone would be sufficient to ask for subscriptions

i'm willing to dance on camera if she needs me too.

I mean this with no disrespect at all because I think her blogs are fine.

But who the hell would actually pay to read them?

not to be that guy (kidding!). i don't really know a lot about patreon. but she's always all banged up and still cranks out more blogs than most bloggers. and good blogs, which we can't say for a lot of the other bloggers.

i think we're just spoiled in here because we're used to it and it's a team with a big fanbase. but some other team's bloggers go a week or more without a blog sometimes.

i also kind of doubt eklund pays them very well so if she can make money another way, i'm r00ting for her all the way to the bank.

- kicksave856

I also feel the same, as I do hope she does well and makes the most out of this, but I think she'd have to start a podcast for her Patreon to work, if it becomes subscription based...

I thought she would have different content on Patreon and would keep posting blogs here, not sure what she's planning on doing exactly...

She's being smart. Numbers on this site are lower than ever and for the lowest of views it was "insert $" per month that basically covers two weekends of groceries for a "family" of 2.

Monkeypuck has been writing blogs in the Leafs threads for years.

FOR

FREE.

I don't think Karine depends on hockeybuzz to buy groceries, at least I hope not.

I have no idea about her income but just the fact that this site is not what it used to be and may not even be there in a few months for all we know (it keeps crashing).

I dont know why she would not explore others avenues. Writing a new blog everyday or so is not easy and she has been doing it for years now.

It just the overall economic context that sucks right now, but that will be true in most spheres of the said economy

Anecdotal and the forum engagement doesn't strictly speaking equate to overall views, but this site would generate 400+ posts on a 2 day blog guaranteed on any of the big teams (Leafs/Habs/Sabres/Philly/Canucks etc.) and 30-50 on the smaller ones, 5-15 on the dead ones (Columbus or Carolina RIP). Now every blog can't generate 50 to save their lives.

oh I would bet anything that the numbers are down, was just curious if you actually had traffic data, perhaps the views aren't as down as the posts and blogs indicate.

Hi Leo,

Sorry I wasn't around to answer your question.

The reason we don't get a special law is that the labor laws have changed in 2019.

Before, the government could impose it's will with a special law that would basically say "That's what it's gonna be!".

Now, the special law implicates that an arbitrator would settle things. Which the government fears because he would lose all control over the final decision and the province's finances.

Cheers!

- Scabeh

Oh I see !

Can I be that arbitrator ?

Not this time as the potential arbitrators were already agreed upon before negociations began.

Next time though!!!

Nobody ever gets the full data, but the last time I blogged fulltime I got 300k individual views. Karine probably gets that now and she should get way more.
