Totally agree that they would close out a lot more games if they could score some empty netters like the rest of the League. But they get hemmed in their own zone so often and so easily. Not enough chances for empty netters.

Mayfield's lack of awareness and ridiculous struggles with clearing the puck make him an anxious nightmare to have in the ice in the last 2-3 min

Bolduc is pretty bad, too. I'd like to see him sent down for almost anyone else in Bridgeport.

We need van de ven and Maddison back. We need another CB in the window. If we can nick that 4th CL spot I’d be thrilled. They played great on Sunday. I was so sick and tired of Champion and Le Seaux talking about how injured Newcastle was like we don’t have like 10 or 11 guys out ourselves. Le Seaux is just a salty Gooner anyway.

Honestly it is an incredible stat. Out of all the players that played this game 90 something only did this. Good for him but he can suck my Richard the way he left here because he knew he wasn’t coming back. Gotta blame Snowballs for that as well.

I can see Bolduc being a solid 3rd pair dman, but it will take time. Pelech really struggled before Barry like a lot of the D. I remember there was promise with Pelech when he was drafted.

As a life long Islander fan I'm very pleased to hear that he was BOO'ed whilst getting his 1000th point. Well done. (no sarcasm--seriously) If I'd been there I would have been singing along to whatever dehumanizing song was being sung. He's a turd. I hope the hall rejects him on principle.

I thought the same thing. It’s a microcosm of his career. Ties the game with 6 seconds remaining. Game 7 OT celly, only to lose the game a min into OT. Amazing that a guy in that elite club of 1000 pts, has had little to know playoff success. 15 seasons and saw the second round twice. Whatever isles fans opinions are about him, his legacy is kinda garbage…..minus his personal stats.
