It's a legitimate concern that was solved with a goalie who isn't good enough. Call up an AHL goalie if UPL/Levi fail. The plan to keep 3 goalies was wrong, the combination of the 3 failed early. It was a bad plan, exposing the flaws in the plan doesn't justify using it.

I would argue this approach played a massive role in the poor start to the season.

I agree, I don't see how it plays a massive role in the beginning of the year though.

They started Levi the first 4 games. First game team played horrible, second game we didn't adjust to the typical NYI game plan. He plays solid against Tampa and then an absolute stinker against Calgary, team wasn't great but they win that game if any other goalie starts IMO.

Levi gets hurt instead of resting against Calgary and the snowball roles.

Not having the 3 goalies opens a roster spot but for whom? They'd just not have to worry bout carrying RyanJohn

3 goalies brought 0 stability to the most important position of a young promising team. Mismanagement of those 3 by an unqualified coach compounded the issue.

The teams mentality is fragile, not having confidence in that position can lead a weakly led team to not be ready to start games. Knowing the coach and GM won't attempt to improve the situation can be a demotivator.

The last stretch, while 26 games too late is nice, this team still hasn't won 2 in row more than once this year....that screams 0 stability to me.

Okay but the 3 headed dragon wasn't thee problem(Its part of it I agree). It was leaning on the rookie goalie with 7 games and your back up plan being another young goalie who hadn't proved himself. And a backup, who is "good" just not reliable.

What your really suggesting(and most of his here did in the preseason) is they should have gotten a gotten a goalie to play 1A while either UPL or Levi backed said goalie up for the year.

It was a bad plan, but it has revealed the future of our net. ((Which could have been their plan all along?)i.e another development year)

just got back from a vacation in switzerland

was in st moritz home of the 1928 and 1948 winter olympics

a little outdoor rink still kind of there, nice monuments describing the events

USA had two teams in 1948 and couldnt agree on which one to send so they tried to both go then they got banned from the tournament

Other than Peterka, which you and I both said would continue to improve...will any other players have, or get close to career high seasons? Injuries happen to every team, this organization brags about the depth and young talent in it....yet it takes a nobody from Columbus to wake this group up...how much of that is on coaching, environment, leadership, the individual?

Do you think a healthy Sabres team can win a best of 7 with any current playoff team?

No, not yet. They still need another Dirty guy who can play in the Top 9. And still think they need 1 more Top 4D, D corps is starting to take shape, especially with how Joker has played. Need to find are Trouba back there.
