For those of us that are, uh, a little more "frugal", I found a streaming site for NHL games that does not have annoying pop-ups and silly adverts.
buffstreams dot ai
You may not get a choice of home or away broadcast but it is a clean and smooth interface. |

Advice please? We'd like to attend an away game, somewhere we haven't gone before (we've done only midwest away games). There's a stretch of California games in March. We know nothing about the stadiums nor the cities themselves! Well I've been in LA a few times but no clue where the stadium is.
Any recommendations for a good game experience plus a day or two in the area? We're the walking around all day exploring types, not "visit the stores" or "take in a show"
3/19 LA
3/21 Anaheim
3/23 San Jose
There's also Arizona on 3/5. I really don't want to support hockey in AZ... but if there's a good reason....

I have never been to games out there and know nothing about the arenas or their locations. But I did find this site.
https://www.elitesportsto...lackhawks-travel-packages
If you scroll down the left side of the page, you'll come to Chicago Blackhawks Road Trips. There are boxes there labeled Things To Do, Where to Eat and How To Get Around. Click on any of those boxes, then scroll down on the next page and then choose a city for the desired information.
These guys will also book your tour for you, arrange for tickets and lodging, etc.
For a cost, I'm sure.

Thanks. I bookmarked it and will give it a try eventually.
Tonight's game is on ESPN. No Vosters. Hopefully Leah Hextall isn't doing the play by play either.

When you invest in a player and are in a rebuild like Chicago, you go the extra mile to see your prospects fight through adversity. I am buoyed by what skill and production he has displayed - the positive results ……he has the ability/just have to get it out of him
Let me hypothesize here: Cole Caufield has struggled to score this season. Give up on him too? - jhawk59
???, he is approximately on the same PPG pace that he has been on his entire career. |

Fatty, I think you're reading IPP. That stat means how often a player gets a point when his team scores while he's on the ice and Bedard's is 90ish. From my fantasy days IIRC anything over 75ish percent means a regression is coming cuz it takes into account the luck of secondary assists.
xGF is an individual stat that takes in loads of measurables when a player shoots as opposed to xGF% that takes into account what team has the better chance to score when a player is on the ice (his defensive abilities added in).
In xGF (individual stat) Bedard ranks 4th on the club behind KK, Jones and Murphy!!
In xGF% (team stat while THAT player is on the ice) he ranks 10th on the Hawks.
Click on xGF and xGF%. https://www.naturalstattr...ines=single&draftteam=ALL
If anyone wants to get pointy headed here's a deep dive into how the stats are calculated. https://insidetherink.com...the-stats-expected-goals/ - Mr Ricochet
Everything in the "On-Ice" stats are team stats and the "individual" page is adjusted per player.
xGF is basically Corsi or FF adjusted for the quality of scoring.
I'm looking at ixGF because it highlights how far ahead he is from everyone in terms of generating goal scoring opportunities.
Even if you take the on ice xGF number he is still significantly separated from the other forwards.
xGF as a percentage is a little more complicated to look at because the team is so incredibly bad that number is going to be horrendous (which it is) across the board.
xGF \ 60 Donato is one of the two above him (which if you look at his career would probably track and explain why he keeps getting chances or why he should get a chance even though he hasn't been able to break out - too bad he really doesn't pass the eye test) and the frenchie
is up there but I'm curious to see what more minutes will do to that number if he gets shuffled around. He's tracking like a guy who should be able to score 15-20 but even if say him and Hall are a wash it's still very very very bad.
Anyway - everyone sucks at defense but at least but at least they are more likely to score when Bedard and any of the top 4 defenders are on the ice. And when you start to break down the numbers the only thing they say is Bedard is lightyears ahead of the guys he's playing with offensively. |

Should’ve drafted Fantilli, not only is he better defensively he’s bigger and he’s better now. KD fail!

No - Caufield has proven twice he's a scorer his underlying metrics are fine and his shooting percentage is low. Debrincat has had similar struggles. Will even out eventually.
Not a good comparison. |

I’m a bit biased as I just moved from Orange County and I really don’t like LA or the Bay Area. The Ducks are an easy ticket to get, and you have nice beaches and good hiking within a reasonable drive.
Just my two cents.

So Bedard is a junior player? He’s fricking 18. Coaching staff is letting him play. He doesn’t need to be a two-way guy at age 18. I don’t want to see him digging out pucks along the boards. I’ve seen him backcheck more and block more shots than Kane ever did.
He still looks better in a 2 min shift than half the Hawks forwards.
Reichel has been absolutely brutal this year…. but let’s keep ripping on Bedard. The Hawks have no proven top 6 forwards on this roster.
Oh and Bedard has 10 even strength goals. - bhawks2241
This board does not go for logic quit making sense.

LOL, I am biased as I am in Santa Monica and don't like Orange County where 95% of the people live behind walls. The Kings play at Cryptoc.om, which is downtown LA. LA you have the beaches, plenty of hiking also. You can generally find a ticket, and depending on where you want to stay, you can take the train, or uber just about anywhere you want to go.

Korchinski still out? Hawks going to ice 4 rookie defensemen again?
McDavid has 23 points in his last 10 games. It could get ugly tonite.
edt: Looks like jhawks man draws in.

Blackhawks’ defense tonight: Murphy, Zaitsev, Vlasic, Phillips, Crevier and Roos.
Against McDavid and Draisaitl. This will be…interesting. |

Al Michaels just got dropped from football coverage at NBC. Maybe Faulkner can hire him to replace Voisters on the Hawks.
Do you believe in miracles? I highly doubt it |

After his 2 minute shift at Center, Bedard will stay on the ice and play D for another minute. |

Al isn't leaving SoCal anytime soon, not for this, and not for the White Sox gig that just opened up. |
