At the #NYR morning skate, K'Andre Miller is not participating, and will not play tonight, due to personal reasons.

That sounds not great. Wish him well.

Hoping it’s nothing major.

All this trade talk, someone we should be targeting is Xhekaj. Even if he stays in Hartford or becomes the 7th dman, he’s the exact type of defenseman we need on the 2nd/3rd pair. Gus has been a great addition, but doubt he doesn’t want a multi-year deal after this year and Lindgren’s body will eventually break down bc of the way he plays, similar to Girardi. Robertson doesn’t seem promising anymore and Jones isn’t the answer. Need to add some LHD depth and MTL doesn’t seem happy with Xhekaj right now.

We're soooo far from any of this trade talk getting resolved. Gotta think with all the teams in a salary crunch this year, it will be even more waiting to the week of the deadline to accrue as much space as possible and see what other teams do.

this is not good, K'Andre eats major minutes back there and seemingly never gets fatigued

Right now him making 3.6 million on the 4th line may cost them a cup.

It’s like we forgot we’ve lost two top 9 players in the midst of a great season and have two 4th liners, really 3 if you count Wheeler, playing in the top 9. It’s not a question of wanting him traded it’s almost that he has to be traded in order to improve the team. Granted JBrod is proving to be perhaps more then that

I’m not counting on Kakko or Chytil for much of anything due to their injuries and that is what will probably cost us this season if it isn’t addressed. In order to address it they need cap space, and that cap space is being thwarted by this 4th line guy making almost 4 million bucks so he has to go

The value he brings is on the PK and in the room. We have plenty of PKers and plenty of leadership. When he was brought here yea, it was a good move back then, but they’ve now hit the point where he’s a burden imo is all I’m saying

15 teams is a lot, he can’t not pick teams if they ask him too. We’re likely trading the first rd pick anyway, so attach a first with him and get a 3rd line center where you can move down Bonino into Goodrows spot. They don’t need an all star in a trade

To my point, it’s also another 2 million bucks in limbo at the moment

LTIR confuses the gell out of me.
Is it beneficial to wait as long as possible to LTIR guys for the season? I’m not sure how it works. But if they wait to place him, and possibly Fil, on season ending LTIR does that accrue more cap space? Because that’s probably what they should do and keep Goodrow. Like do it right before the TDL is want I’m asking, does it make a difference

Its so odd how 2 weeks ago reports came out that Chytil was one the ice skating again and ever since that report there has been dead air silence on him.

overall team defense has declined without Kakko in the lineup, I dont think its disputable
