I don't think a contender will want Savard to eat mins...plus 3.5M is too much for him now, maybe next year when they can double retain.

I was thinking maybe a 50% retained Dvorak could bring back something nice but looks like he has been pretty rough.

Ahh that's cool. So rather than deferring the luxtax they put it into today's dollars and hit them now. Probably a much better solution.

I wonder about insurance? I guess it's just insuring the $2M per year and the $680M is just a guaranteed payout with no insurance coverage.

**err wait, I guess they can just set up a policy for $XX if anything happens to him in years 1-10. The policy would just reduce over time with games played. Some actuary will have that poop figured out.
