Ahh that's cool. So rather than deferring the luxtax they put it into today's dollars and hit them now. Probably a much better solution.

I wonder about insurance? I guess it's just insuring the $2M per year and the $680M is just a guaranteed payout with no insurance coverage.

**err wait, I guess they can just set up a policy for $XX if anything happens to him in years 1-10. The policy would just reduce over time with games played. Some actuary will have that poop figured out.

No idea about the insurance but Dodgers still pay $44M year into an escrow account for him. Crazy thing: he’s expected to make $50M this year in endorsements
